Who we vote for?
« on: October 28, 2022, 05:24:49 PM »
When voting times comes around. Most times I don’t even recognize the names. All I know is vote Republican and definitely not Biden or dems. I know I supposed to look up each one and their agenda. But I don’t have time. Please share if legal..

That is one hell of a question for this site!
Vote for who you think is best. If you really don't know
Don't ever vote Democrat they are all anti-gun.  Other than that
do as you see fit.  This is a pro 2A site.
This is Hawaii your vote won't count anyway.

I wonder how many political candidate flyers go from the mailbox straight to the rubbish bin.  I know it happens at my house.

Sometimes when I need a laugh I'll read what it says and what they will do:

Solve Homeless Problem

Solve Housing Problem

Fight Crime

Expose and punish Gov't Corruption

Yada....yada...yada......

Same ole shiite from years and years of bullsh*t.  They should save their money and just re-print their old crap.

Yeah, this is Hawaii.  Where 90% of the people here look at the ballots and mark the "D", having no idea who the f**k is next to it.
Sometimes you gotta know when to save your bullets.

Quite often voters pick the name that gets their attention.  When I first came here in the early 90s, I heard many times that if you have a Japanese last name, you had a better than even chance of winning.  Not sure how much of that is true, either now or then.

I do know that having a last name that's alphabetically first compared to the others on the ballot get you votes.  People are lazy and will select the first name in the list if party isn't a determining factor.

Then there's the name recognition.  People with celebrity status get more votes just because people do know them.  Doesn't matter why they are well-known.

If you trust certain groups and organizations, you can check their endorsements.  Google them or check their websites.  Candidates' sites also list their endorsements.

My mom used to vote for whoever was ahead in the polls, for two reasons:

1.  She figured other people know more and would be voting for the best person, and

2.  She could feel good that she voted for the winner!   :geekdanc:

I recommend you take a couple of hours to do your own research.  Plenty of good, factual info online.  That's always better than asking for someone else's opinion.  They might be one of the voters I listed above!

Go here, submit the form, and you can see your specific ballot for your representative district and county:

Might be a time saver for the OP to upload the PDF of his ballot.

Homework to do..  :shaka:
McDermmot is a friend to the 2a while he was a HI rep .

Traci Toguchi seems more pro 2a than tyler. Search her name, i posted my convo with both of them.

Mercado was super anti 2a, but is slowly changing. As in voting aye with reservations instead of just aye. Idk about her opponent. But could they be worst?
