sports authority got ransacked. when i left a little while ago at 230am they mostly had rifle and shotgun rounds left. when i walked in at 12:45 the checkout line was a 1/8 mile long lol.

estimated cases left as of 230am (i think they closed at 3 so tomorrow mornings inventory should be similar.
6 cases .223 and 4 cases 5.56, 6 cases 30-06, 8 cases 30-30, 5 cases .270, 5 cases .300winmag, 1 case 7mm, 3 cases .22lr, 4 cases .38 special, 8 cases .45acp, 1 case 45 long colt. all shotgun ammo is well stocked as usual. there may be more ammo available but majority of the inventory is on the display floor.

i left 1 case of .44mag and 2 cases each of 9mm and .40 cal for hopefully someone from this board.  :shaka:

It used to apply to firearms, but not for a long time now.

That was awhile back...I think it's guys like you AND me that severely abused the 25% off firearms and ammo that caused this.

I just got back from the Waikele SA.  A few guys left with baskets full of ammo, but the stock levels are probably better than Ward (Clerk says theres more in back). The "doorbuster" buy one, get one 50% off is good until 3PM.  If anyone goes by later today, be sure to check carefully...I saw tourists opening boxes to fondle the rounds.

I was hoping for another 25% off any single purchase item coupon at Sports Authority. But that doesn't look like it is happening this year.

Otherwise I am buying optics this week. Gonna check out the local scene today and if there is nothing I like I will hit up the online sales.

buy one get second box half off. it wasnt that cheap. only saved a few dollars a case compared to say buying independence or sellier & bellot or american eagle etc. winchester is meh.
best deal i found was rws 9mm made in switzerland, 14.99 buy one get one half off. theyre loaded pretty hot to euro spec so its close to a +p.

speedtek! please have more than a couple glock 22 packages! im heading down right now with my 2 friends and were hoping to buy 3 glocks. keeping my fingers crossed.

Went to SA in Kapolei at 0230 this morning.  Had a long line but I found front row parking.  9mm, 45acp was plentiful.

True. If getting a case, I'd go to OGC (the only place I've bought ammo locally in over a year). But not everyone wants/can afford a whole case.

I honestly would never have gone to an early bird black Friday sale, but my son wanted the ATR package for X-mas.

I think Cabelas or Midway has an optics sale.

I would have bought cases from OGC, if it wasn't Independence brand.

I got 50 boxes 12ga from SA but when I got home realized they only gave me 48. Went back this afternoon and told them about the mistake and they said grab two more and it's all good. That was pretty cool of them. Even apologized for it being so nuts earlier.

I picked up a good deal from X-Ring on a scope for my new AR I just built. I ordered a scope for my revolver from Natchez Shooting Supplies.

It is a little hard to explain. It is made by AIM Sports (their website does not have a list of products), it is 2.5x-10x variable scope, 30mm tube with 40mm objective, made in China with Japanese Optics. I looked thru it for only a second or two outside but it seems very clear for an inexpensive optic. It includes a lighted reticle in red or green with variable intensity. Plus it has a BDC Knob set for 100-500 yds as well as 1/2 MOA Adjustments. And on top of that it has a green laser for close/indoor use. Oh, and this sort of all-in-one deal has its own quick disconnect mount. It is a bit on the heavy side at 22.9oz. It includes a lifetime warranty honored by X-Ring. I attached a couple photos, sorry they are not the greatest.

Mind you I was going to order a Nikon M-223 for $290 plus mount/rings before I saw this little unit. While I am sure the M-223 is a much better scope and maybe lighter even with rings I liked the compactness of this unit and the ability to mount to numerous guns sorta sold me on it. I intend to build at least one more AR soon in 6.5 Grendel with another 2 being planned (Thinking .22 and 300 Blackout). And then they told me it was on sale for $169.99 and I couldn't pass it up. Depending on how accurate my AR turns out to be I will probably end up replacing it some day with a more target oriented optic with higher magnification and target reticle. But to be honest with you it is good enough for most AR's in my opinion. Good enough for anything you want to shoot at at Kokohead and for self defense use. And it just looked REALLY COOL!!!

Couldn't go anyways.  Stuck at work from 930-930.  I did have a chance to run to Security equipment, where they had Blazer .45 for 15.99 a box.  I guess that was my black Friday deal.  :geekdanc:

Glad I didn't go last night.  I was planning to, but my son suddenly came down with a fever so I stayed home with him.

But, I did go this morning and they still had 3 cases of .22 bulk pack although they didn't have the 555 copper plated bulk pack.  No lines and plenty parking at Ward SA.

There is nothing wrong with the Independence brand...it's brass cased, reloadable, cheap, and clean range ammo.  I've gone through 750 rounds out of 2,000 picked up at OGC, without any problems. Imagine doing that with Hornady TAP ($22/25rds), Speer Gold Dot ($24/20rds), or Winchester Ranger SXT ($30/50rds)?

You are one of the very few people, that say this ammo burn clean.  Perhaps I'll try a box, and see what my actual results are.

I'm pretty sure Independence (and CCI Blazer-brass) 45acp uses SMALL primers so reloaders beware.
PITA  if you run a progressive loader. Dangerous too. Progressives will size and decap then advance and try to stuff a large primer into a small pocket.
Herewith is a photo of the "rogue" headstamps to look out for:
