UGH. Shouldn’t even be surprised. Hold onto your guns and seats. Looking like it might be a wild ride

They still haven’t processed my vote yet. This whole thing is a sham, but had to do it anyway.

You can tell people are pissed off though. I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot more anger and push back over the next couple years, especially as the situation deteriorates.

On the national front, it looks like the House will have a new party in charge!

GOP on track for narrow majority
By Samuel Chamberlain

As we approach 2:30 a.m., Republicans have flipped a net of six House seats,
one more than what they need to regain control of the chamber after four years
out of power.

Here are the nine seats they've flipped so far.

Florida 4th District (Aaron Bean def. LaShonda Holloway)

Florida 7th District (Cory Mills def. Karen Green)

Florida 13th District (Anna Luna def. Eric Lynn)

Georgia 6th District (Rich McCormick def. Bob Christian)

New Jersey 7th District (Thomas Kean Jr. def. Tom Malinowski)

Tennessee 5th District (Andy Ogles def. Heidi Campbell)

Texas 15th District (Monica De La Cruz def. Michelle Vallejo)

Virginia 2nd District (Jennifer Kiggans def. Elaine Luria)

Wisconsin 3rd District (Derrick Van Orden def. Brad Pfaff)

but Lauren Boebert (Colorado rep, 3 district) lost to a Dem, and Mayra Flores (Texas-34 district) also lost to a Dem.  Both were incumbents.  Laurens district was recently redrawn (gerrymandered).  Mayra was a freshman.

even with a majority in the house, without a senate majority, impeachment proceedings will go nowhere.  it might mark an end to the J6 drama-fiasco, though..

I cannot understand how republicans did so poorly last night. What an absolute let down. I guess more people care about killing babies than the economic direction of the country.

Unfortunately Hawaii will be going down the path of the same old, same old.  But for most of us it really wasn't surprising.  But we'll keep on trying.

What's up with Pennsylvania?  With everyone there complaining about the rampant crime, homicides, and decay of morality they would vote for change.  But I guess they love the sewer they live in.  Thank you Oprah.  People would rather listen to you instead of their own common sense.

i don't see how they could vote for somebody that's mentally impaired, geez it's bad enough with senile Biden.  Crime in NYC is gonna get out of control, same in Philly.  Actually, it's already out of control, just going get mo' worse.  but, they voted for it.

I have some hope.

If some of the US House graphics are accurate, a number of areas of CA turned RED.  Appear to be slim margins, but still.

Overall, seems like a signal that hopefully more CA folks are getting sick of the Pelosi, Feinstein, Schiff crap.  I'm not really far leaning any direction in politics, just hate that people seem to complain about the crap state of things and keep voting for the people that got them there.

It's definitely "far from over". Lots of states with 50% or greater margin-of-victory and mandatory recounts are still pending, not to mention any lawsuits.

I am a bit surprised over some of the results, but I have to admit that I was watching mostly FOX for election coverage and doing so will give me some red-tinted goggles.

The most depressing thing about American politics is that ideologically, we'd have the "best and brightest" in office engaged in fair and balanced thinking. However, we have awful candidates we're essentially trying to force into office based solely on party affiliation. I get it. Most people vote by party affiliation. But, that still doesn't explain how these candidates get nominated in the first place.

Same/similar.  I was watching a Fox feed on my computer.  Then when I was driving, the news feed on the radio was NBC based.  MUCH different tones, which I expected.

On the ideology thing, I've found that in Hawaii, many folks vote by name recognition, and not necessarily people they know.  Drives me bonkers.

Hawaii's government unions and private sector unions will continue to be the biggest drivers of why things don't change in Hawaii.

Understandably so, these people want to keep their jobs and their way of life.  Hopefully one day they will entertain the idea that they still can continue with their job security and way of life even though the leaders in charge do not have a "D" attached to their office.

I was a union member and my job depends on the political climate.  Lay-offs are a reality when you work construction in the private sector.  But the most profitable years of my career where I was constantly and gainfully employed happened when the leader of our state did not have that iconic "D" attached to her name.

My ballot still wasn’t counted yet. All those fancy machines and early counting are just excuses to drag things out and get the results they want. The old way was far superior in every metric, so they must have gotten rid of it for a reason.

The crowds I saw yesterday doesn’t make sense with low voter turnout. I’m pretty sure we’re going to find out more to this story in the near future.

More people voted for OHA than for Gov. 460K for OHA vs. 238K for Gov.

Hard to cheat that way.  Might have been slower to get results but something as important as elections shouldn't be rushed.
