Facebook's parent is fined nearly $25M for
violating a campaign finance disclosure law

In addition, the state asked for attorney fees totaling more than $10M.  That requested amount will be decided on later.

They violated the same election law 822 times between 2019 and 2021!  This is not the first time Washington State sued the company,  They were sued in 2018 for violating the EXACT SAME LAW.

In 2018, following Ferguson's first lawsuit, Facebook agreed to pay $238,000 and committed to transparency in campaign finance and political advertising. It subsequently said it would stop selling political ads in the state rather than comply with the requirements.

Nevertheless, the company continued selling political ads, and Ferguson sued again in 2020.

Too bad the state didn't go after them for punitive damages, since the laws broken had an obvious impact on the 2020 election.  But, we can't talk about election interference when the Dems win, can we?
