First reading at council meeting at Honolulu Hale, 10:00 on Tuesday, 29 September.  Sounds like one minute per person for testimony.  If/when it gets to public reading, testimony time gets bumped to three minutes.

If this sensitive places bullsh*t passes, they should make it easier and tell us where we can CCW instead of telling us where we cannot.

It seems like nowhere.  So what's the point?  Rick the dick sure is slick.

And Tommy Watters can s**k it.

They are trying to grant licenses that will restrict you to where you can currently carry without a license.  Basically your home or place of business. The only difference is you will be able to legally carry a loaded gun between these places whereas now you cannot. They will say we are issuing CCW licenses in compliance with SCOTUS ruling, which they are not.  My whole take on the matter is I will go out of my way to avoid a confrontation.  Apologize even if the other person is wrong. But I will also do whatever it takes to save my life or that of a loved one or to prevent us from serious bodily harm. I will deal with the legal consequences after. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

He is; his recommendation was to get max testimony, both written and in person, to show that firearm owners 1) care; and 2) are responsible, reasonable citizens.  Given the current composition of the council, he’s not very optimistic about getting bill 57 blocked or delayed, but his thought is the best chance we have is for the community to show up strong.

I agree with you.  I hope more people bring out the point that by essentially restricting CCW carry only to ones residence and place of business, they are violating the intent of the SCOTUS decision.

I hope more people question that if all of these places are proposed to be restricted, then where can a citizen legally CCW carry?  The answer is essentially nowhere.

I have questioned these points in my testimony and have pointed out other things.

I pointed out that in these restricted no gun zones, seconds matter when there is a mass shooter.  There is no way law enforcement will be able to respond in time to save lives.

I pointed out that it's high time they acknowledge that a responsible and vetted CCW holder can be an effective first line defense against these criminals.

I also stated that these measures only enable and embolden criminals.  I reiterated that these measures do not protect the public but actually puts them at the mercy of a criminal with a gun.

We need some people to come out on the 29th and do the 1 minute testimony.  Come out if you can, but don't take the day off work or school to do it.  I know not everyone can take the day off all the time.  You can do a zoom testimony if work allows.

We need everyone to show up for the committee hearing or 2nd reading in January.  That's more important.

There will also be a state capitol rally end of Jan or beginning Feb next year.

And we'll need people to show up to testify against the State sensitive places and other bills.

So manage your time appropriately.
