I just saw an HNN excerpt this morning.  Chief sitting down signing the approval with 8 or 9 of his cronies looking over his shoulder.

Reminds me of when they show biden signing one of his countless executive orders with his goons looking on smiling and nodding with approval.....

I’m surprised the first person is not from this forum. Cause I would think most of you peeps here are hardcore on being one of the first to apply. Oh well, as soon as someone post here about theirs, then I know it’s legit. Until  then, I no believe!

The first persons have a 60% chance of being on this forum as long as HPD process the apps first come first serve.

Like CMO mentioned above, HPD will mail out the approval letter. That individual probably wont know about it till tomorrow at the earliest.

You have too much faith that HPD would get the ball going and mail the letter that day or by tomorrow mornings mail pick up.  I would speculate that the letter won't go out until Jan 3rd.  I'll keep you posted if I can find out the post mark date.

The medical/mental health request letters weren't mailed out way after the apps were submitted.

So to make the process faster and easier, HPD could easily mail the permit to you.  But instead they mail you an approval letter, then you go to HPD to pick it up.  Per HPD sgt desk, you cannot just show up.  So say the letter is sent and you're not home to sign (certified mail).  Instead of you just going to pick it up, you have to bring that physical approval, even though they would have the card at the desk waiting.

The $10 could be paid at time of application.  And then refunded if you're denied.

Nevada lets you pay at time of app and mails the card regular mail to you.  If you lose the card and need a duplicate, you go to Metro and they issue you one on the spot.  Lets see how HPD fucks this process up when someone loses and needs a duplicate.  I'll bet they will run the background all over again and make you fill out the PTA and like forms.

I don’t consider an application approved until the permit is in the applicant's hand. If he signed it but did not mail it, it is not 100% approved. Signing but not mailing is just showboating.  And you have to go through this bullshit every year ?

Andrew from HIFICO was at HPD asking and putting pressure on HPD as to why it's taking so long.  6 were sent up to the chief to sign, he only signed 1 that we know of (yesterdays FB post by HPD).

He explained waiting for a letter is BS and takes too long.  HPD said they will also call each approved applicant so they can come down that day to pick up their permit.  I hope they honor this and don't change their mind.

So this is the guy and org who has been pushing this process and without him/HIFICO, we might still be at the Attorney General redefining what "good moral character" is.

Exactly what is the Chief using as his barometer as to whether to approve a CCW application or not?

Those applicants already went through the exhaustive process of acquiring a handgun.  Basically the CCW applications are a carbon copy of the acquisition process.

How can or would he deny someone a CCW license yet permit that same someone to own a handgun?

What is he doing? Sitting at his desk and playing "eenie...meeenee...maihneee...mo?"

update via video above:

1) 10 awaiting his signature.
2) none denied.
3) 50 apps who completed the new chiefs rules protocol and being reviewed.

Digging his nose.

That's what I was thinking. If someone can own a gun, why does the CCW take longer than 2 weeks.  I know guys who applied for PTA and CCW same time.  Just so there's record of them being approved for PTA.

Kit n Guns student was the first. He posted on his IG. Guess its not first in, first out. Kits class was at least a week after Andrews (UIT).

Medical checks went out all the same time i guess.

No, I don't mind announcing on this forum if I do decide to apply for a CCW license and end up getting one.

My comment was more aimed at the public level.  I as a 2a supporter and owner of firearms is a rarity among my family and friends.  Most of them would be the "f**kn Karens" I'm talking about.
