How much is a bunch? 10? How many before blood starts running in the streets? Maybe after several thousand get issued the powers that be will realize they had nothing to be afraid of.  Years ago they were afraid to legalize pepper spray, then Tasers, saying these things will be used to commit crimes.

Correct, but a few were unable to make it last night.

Since Mrs.CMO was handed hers 1st, she's the 1st person to get their CCW in 2023.  And 2nd overall.

You can.  You have to apply in person and pickup the permit in person.

So the approval letters cost $14.17 each.

600 apps means $8500 in USPS charge. Prob way higher depending if the 600 is per person or apps as in if 1 person applied for 4 guns, thats 4 apps.

Then add in if thousands apply and this needs to be done annually.

If it was not for the permission to let them do a rectal exam on your private matters and the eternal redos of the damn thing, i might try.
Still not heard where they even have a BI facility to do the shooting exam.  Cops do not have a range as far as i know.

My friend got a call from hpd and was told his app is "moving up in the process". He submitted 20 days ago.

Call them and ask to speak to who's in charge of the ccw. When i spoke to suzie, i got a vanilla reply "u will get a letter when ur approved".

Another person (male) i spoke to a few days later said my app went up to the chief.

I know a guy who submitted on 12/23 and his app is going up to the chief now.

Can anyone else post updates on when they submitted and if they've heard from or called HPD?

Call them and find out specific status on where your app is at. Post back.  Beware if you talk to Suzie. U may have to ask for the CCW person in charge.
