Eye relief is something to consider.

Sorry, I don't have the attention span to watch videos at the moment.

Have 1 rifle for each type of optic.

Personally, I live in a condo, so a LVPO or any magnified type of optic is not needed.  If I had to provide over watch for "someone", then I'm confident up to 300 yards.

Yup. And between different LPVO’s have different eye relief and forgiving, especially at 1x. Also comes with price difference.

I also didn’t finish the video. Will go back and watch the rest.

Differences that I recall from my guns with similar setups is weight. The weight of the LPVO and mount is quite a bit heavier than just an RDS. Over a two day rifle course and about 400-600 rounds, I noticed. It’s also more PITA to mount and zero a rifle scope than RDS. Not a whole lot, but it is more time consuming.

You can PID at 300 yards?

There are plenty of things maybe not needed, but do you train for things or situations that you don’t “need”?

My SD/SHTF AR has the Holosun 510c red dot
Also have another AR with 1-10 LPVO
Most SD scenarios the red dot is better suited. Faster sight/target acquisition, better eye relief. I dont anticipate most scenarios going longer than 50 yards, most much shorter distance
If the need arises for longer than 200 yards or so, then the LPVO may be an option
I notice most beginner or average shooters have difficulty getting a sight picture with the LPVO, especially when you turn the magnification up, and as the eye relief gets shorter even more difficult. Takes practice to get it fast. The beginners have much less problems with the red dot

Watched the rest of the video. Give him. Lot of credit for trying for himself different setups. Personally, I didn’t like the fixed low magnification optics, like ACOG, Elcan, etc. Maybe he’s right in the lower mag, smaller optic body is the way of the future. I enjoy his videos, but many come off as shilling for products…

Maybe in the future I’ll try a fixed mag small body optic.
