Hearing is on 2/10 at 3:05pm

They want to require a 14 hour handgun safety course instead of 4 hours that is current.  There is no grandfather clause, which means anyone who wants to buy another handgun has to take the 14 hour class. Which is probably a 3 day course (2 days for class, 1 day for shooting).


CCW requirements:

They want 3 years of social media page info.

Disclose all household members

In person interview with HPD

GEE This sounds like another BLUE State.  Hey Wait a Minute, Didn't a lawsuit get filed?  Against the other Blue State?  I think Politicians just like to WASTE our tax Payers $$$ and NOT Solve the REAL ISSUES!  They Want to "SHOWBOAT" and say "I TRIED"!

NP. Just don't get fatigued and keep up the fight cause they throwing the book at us this year.  THeir goal is to tire us out.  Like SB1230 that was 27 pages that covered multiple HRS134 sections.  Usually bills are section specific unless it's a new law like Electric Guns that they have to create.

HPD was asked about staffing and they don't have it. Then add in other counties like Maui PD. Also Wakai asked whats the diff to go from 4 hrs to 14. Then to 50 hrs. Where does it end?  This is a very diff Wakai from last weeks hearings. He seems more logical.
