Seems like the US Army might be having recruitment problems.

I remember a time when if you wanted to join the armed forces, you meet their standard.

Not the other way around.  WTF is this "helps the Army better reflect society as a whole" crap.

Any military establishment that tries to cater to society is gonna fail in the battlefield.  I'd rather field 100 good men instead of 10,000 confused gender pukes that would sh*t their pants at the crack of bullets flying past them.

And the way society is nowadays, well......nuff said.

Yes.  We are.   

People would see Army training movies, see the people in the recruiting offices, know people in the Army, and so on.  They had an impression of what being in the Army entailed, and who they would need to become to be a part of it.

Recruiting methods should attract the kinds of people the Army needs, not the people the Army must accommodate.
