Just an FYI on Mark Smith, he is a gun owner, Constitutional lawyer and a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar.

Preamble to the Bill Of Rights.

See the remarks about "preventing misconstruction or abuse" of the government's powers.

https://drexel.edu/ogcr/resources/constitution/amendments/preamble/

Most people don't realize that this powerful statement of concern about creeping government powers even exists.

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

Heard the Mayor on the radio this morning.
He is HARD OVER on this. You could feel the frost when a gal asked him about it.
I am really sorry I voted for him now. Won't be doing it again. :grrr:

Does this Honolulu ordinance/law talk about a 1,000 foot buffer around each sensitive area?  I heard this guy mention it.  But when I search for key words in the bill, I could not find any.

Quote
A voter service center, place of deposit, and its appurtenances, and an
area of 200 feet from the perimeter of any voter service center, place of
deposit, and its appurtenances, as designated by election officials
pursuant to HRS § 11-132
Quote
First Amendment expressive activities: within a distance of 100 feet of the
outer edge of any group of 25 or more people, in a public place, who are
engaged in expressive activities involving speech or conduct, the principal
object of which is the expression, dissemination, or communication by
verbal, visual, literary, or auditory means of political, religious,
philosophical, or ideological opinions, views, or ideas.

Those are the on;y 2 "buffer zones" I see mentioned.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Easier to remember DON"T leave your home with a gun even with a permit.  Garans in the course of a normal day you are going to violate one or more of these bullshit sensitive places. These proposed regulations are even worse than pre Bruen. They will get overturned in court, but we all know how long that takes.

To me it's so funny.

How do they come up with these "buffer zone" distances?

Will they require all licensees to carry tape measures?  I have a 100' tape measure from my working days.  Gotta go Home Depot or Lowe's to see if they have a 1000' foot one.......

In case you missed it in the other thread, the AG says that you don't have to go back to around the founding time (1791-1820).  Says HI's history is sufficient, even though HI wasn't a state until much later.

AG says the bills don't ban everywhere, it gives businesses the option. cough cough automatic ban.

The lady who claims her daughter was murdered says HI isn't a state.  And the overthrow was illegal or something.  She support sensitive places and brings in her suicides daughters picture to every hearing. She was yelling at us at the Chiefs rules hearing on why we need more than 10rds in a mag.  When she testified multiple times her daughter was shot with 1 bullet.

FYI she also wrote to Barry and got a letter back from him about her daughters "suicide".
