Did it crack just from shooting?  That sucks…how’s their warranty?  I was looking to try those.  I got the American Rifle Co Mbrace and was worried about their 55lb torque specs being too much.  :(

Read some of the reviews from owners having problems.  Many like the design, but experience manufacturing or materials problems.  Most expect better for a mounting system in this price range.

As with all products, there are those who never experience problems.  I'd say it's worth trying to get a warranty replacement.  Might be luckier this time around.

the uniformity of that crack sure looks like a hacksaw ... although I'm sure it's not.  so the cracks usually occur at the thinnest cross-section.  overtorqued?  or flawed aluminum?

Damn, that sucks!  Anything from Spuhr on the issue?

I have three and all good.  I haven't heard much bad about these mounts, but maybe I didn't look very far.  They are quite popular from what I've seen.  For my next scope, I went with the ARC M-Brace mount.  I haven't gotten the mount or scope out of the box yet.  I have another rifle with the ARC M-Brace rings and they are fine.  The torque specs are covered in their FAQ.

For $400+ I would want a replacement at my door next day no cost..   They do have a reputation as being as good as those things get, albeit heavy.
I would suspect a flaw in the casting.

I currently use Aero Precision lightweight mounts and not broke a thing (yet), though the lightness has me watching things.  They needed lapping for good contact area.
