Anyone have a high quality barrel vise?

Anyone have a really good barrel vise? The wheeler one keeps spinning the barrel in the oak blocks. Specifically one to remove a tikka barrel.

Looking at some videos on MidwayUSA, they use Baker Rosin on the oak blocks to create friction, and they crank the heck out of the screws to keep the barrel from rotating.

i also saw a guy use a torch to heat the action and a product called freeze spray to cool the barrel.  This supposedly expanded the action threads and contracted the barrel threads.  Not sure if that combo was a major factor or not, but heat could definitely help unstick parts that won't turn.

If the barrel is spinning, then the type of action wrench and torque applied are not issues ... yet.

Hope that's helpful.

Heat does help when the barrel is really stuck.  I always apply Kroil and let sit for a couple of days before taking the barrel off.  If everything fails and you don't care about the current barrel you can make a relief cut around the barrel close to the receiver face using Dremel.

Thanks. Got some kroil working now also. Was hoping to save the barrel to offset the replacement barrel cost a little. They really tightened them on from the factory.
