Are Nazis leftists?
« on: March 04, 2023, 06:44:23 PM »
No, Nazis are not leftists. Nazis are considered to be far-right and are associated with fascist ideology, which is characterized by extreme nationalism, authoritarianism, and often racism or xenophobia.

Left-wing political ideologies, on the other hand, tend to prioritize social and economic equality and emphasize the role of the government in providing services and protecting the rights of citizens.

The political spectrum is a complex and multi-dimensional concept, and different individuals or groups may have different views on where specific political movements or ideologies fall on the spectrum. However, in general, the ideology and policies of the Nazi party are considered to be far-right and are not associated with left-wing political beliefs.

Bless your heart!

"Cool story, bro" is a sarcastic phrase that is often used to dismiss or mock a story or comment that someone has shared, particularly if it's irrelevant, uninteresting, or unnecessary. It can also be used to express annoyance or boredom with a conversation.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

It's a little weird to be so obsessed with Nazis.

Did you watch Indiana Jones a few too many times or is this some weird fetish thing?

It’s right there, where he spelled it “Marsha.”  If he’s making a Brady Bunch reference, which is what most people would intend there, it’s spelled “Marcia.”

If he’s not making a Brady Bunch reference, I don’t get it… ???

The entire idea of a one-dimensional “left/right” spectrum is flawed; doesn’t account for other significant political distinctions.

A two-dimensional model, while not perfect, is at least better.  The horizontal axis would be “left/right,” or more accurately “liberal/conservative” (of course, you first have to define those terms).  The vertical axis is “authoritarian/libertarian.”

In a model like that, you might find the WWII Nazis to be toward the liberal side (socialist; governmental control of the means of production; ideals of egalitarianism, even if they don’t manifest in reality), and very high on the authoritarian scale.

It’s an interesting exercise to see where you think modern U.S. presidents plot out on that graph.

The way some leftists are overly obsessed with Nazis
It is a kinship and recognition of preferred approaches to controlling the unwilling peasants.

The weaponization of the DOJ and associated bureaus under Øbowel and Bidet* is very clear analogy to the rise of the brownshirts, SS, and Gestapo.

That’s on the vertical axis (authoritarian/libertarian), not the left/right axis.  Conservative administrations are just as capable of weaponizing the administrative apparatus as liberal ones.

The way some leftists are overly obsessed with Nazis...

It's an age-old tactic more often employed by Liberals and Socialists than conservatives.

They paint anyone who opposes their failed ideologies as the enemy, and no image screams enemy louder than "Hitler" and Nazi."

It's amazing how Right Wing Conservatives today are called Fascists and Nazis because Liberals in academia drew that parallel sometime in the last century, yet the same Liberals deny the racist, slavery-supporting, eugenics-obsessed past of the Democrat party and progressives.

Do some reading on the Progressive Era in the US: 1890 - 1920.
Quote
The dark side of progressivism

Though Progressive reformers achieved many noteworthy goals during this period,
they also promoted discriminatory policies and espoused intolerant ideas. The Wilson
administration, for instance, despite its embrace of modernity and progress, pursued
a racial agenda that culminated in the segregation of the federal government. The
years of Wilson’s presidency (1913-1921) witnessed a revival of the Ku Klux Klan
and a viciously racist backlash against the economic and political gains of African
Americans in the post-Reconstruction period.

Labor unions, which were very active in Progressive politics, supported restrictions on
immigration and spewed xenophobic rhetoric that blamed immigrants for low wages and
harsh working conditions in factories across the nation. Federal immigration policies in
the Progressive Era, including the Immigration Act of 1917 and the National Quota Law
of 1921, severely limited immigration based on nationality, and excluded virtually all
Asian immigrants.

In line with their view of human nature as capable of being engineered and manipulated,
many Progressive reformers advocated selective breeding, or eugenics. Eugenics was
considered “the science of better breeding” and aimed to improve the genetic quality of
the human population through policies that would encourage the more “desirable”
elements of society to have more children while preventing “undesirables” from reproducing.

Eugenics was based on a racial and class hierarchy that placed white, Anglo-Saxon
Protestants at the top. Lower classes, ethnic minorities, recent immigrants, the mentally ill,
and the developmentally disabled all occupied lower rungs on this hierarchy. In 1907, the
United States became the first country to pass a compulsory sterilization law.

The genocidal policies of Nazi Germany ultimately discredited the “science” of eugenics,
but not before over 60,000 American men and women were forcibly sterilized to prevent
them from having children.

Two words:  Planned Parenthood

Even PP has acknowledged the racism, bigotry and evil intent of their origins, which is why they have tried to expunge Sanger from the organization's culture -- as if you can make a puppy a cat by killing its mother and calling it Miss Kitty.
