Where were you when the HI Governor forgot his Twitter password?

So, there's a "thought-provoking" movie out this month exploring what people would do in the 20 minutes between an ICBM launch warning and detonation over Hawaii.

I'll reserve judgement until I see it on some free or already subscribed-to streaming service (not going to pay for it).  The trailer seems underwhelming, but that's my opinion.  I see the trailer was uploaded in Aug 2020.  Hmmm .....

Side note: 20 minutes is enough time to get to the bank and lock yourself into the vault.  it worked for Burgess Meredith.

I made a cup of coffee and tried to get the best view of Ford Island with the hopes that I would be instantly vaporized.

You know, one of the lucky ones.
Stop blaming lazy people. We didn’t do anything.

I tried to take shelter in an old ICBM silo on Oahu, but Kuleana wouldn't open the door!

Sign on door said "No Haoles".

Some people panicked and some didn't.  Understandable because it depends where you were when the notice went out.  Those at shopping malls, beaches, and parks would panic more.

I was at home.  When the notice went out I looked at the TV.  No red tape broadcasting over existing programming.  No emergency sirens.

Wasn't really panicking.  I've thought about this scenario countless times.  It just so happened my family was at my house that day.  Even if that missile did come I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.  I was with my loved ones.

I was supposed to meet my best friend for breakfast that day at Nancy's in Waipio.  He texted me and said he'll meet me after the missile scare.  I said you bet.

I got the phone notice, and my daughter immediately called me to see what I think she should do.  I said, "I'll call you back."

i spent 3 minutes trying to get confirmation from any source, and there was nothing at all.  Pretty sure Twitter would have had something from the WH if the alert was real, because the whole country would have been put on alert.

I called her back and said to not worry.  It's either a test of the alert system or a precaution based on a missile test out of N. Korea.  I didn't say it, but I knew if the alert was real, we were screwed.  No need to panic when there's nothing that can be done.

I did tell her not to look at any bright flashes ...   :shake:

This!

My son woke me up,  I looked at my phone,  I asked him if he heard any emergency sirens (I did not), he said no, I told him that it was a false alarm, and went back to sleep.
