***FIRE MISSION*** HB426 due before 3/16 @ 3:02pm
« on: March 15, 2023, 08:43:04 AM »
Hearing is on 3/17 @ 3:02pm.

Use link below:
https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/account/login.aspx?return=/account/submittestimony.aspx

Sign in and enter " HB426".

This bill will hold any firearm seller or accessory seller liable if someone uses the item illegally and the item was sold without "resonable controls" to keep it out of the hands of someone who will use it illegally.

This includes if you sell any item on the forum here in the classifieds.  Again, this isn't only firearms, but parts as well. So buttstock, mags, springs, barrel, ammo, etc...

Even if the lawsuit is moot, it will still cost money to hire an attorney to defend yourself.

FYI, the Heller Foundation is submitting testimony.

Heller was a SCOTUS lawsuit that said the 2nd doesn't only apply to the militia and people have a right to own a gun and self defesne.

Submitted.

I have too many projects and not enough time to figure out how to use a 3d printer.
Is an armadillo just a tactical opossum?

Bummer, how would that even work with online stores? If someone steals my rifle and does god forbid.  and I built the rifle with a barrel from brownells and a handguard from midway.  I don’t even know.

This bill is for sales or distribution. As long as ur guns are reasonably secured, u should be fine.

I’m just thinking about how the online shopping experience will be affected.  Like if I buy a simple ejection port cover for my ar online.  I assume a retailer like brownells would not want the liability. Unless this only applies to sales within the state.
