There was nothing for sale to drink unless you wanted a smoothie.  Slim pickings on food.  I would have gladly paid $10 for a hotdog and a Diet a coke 😂

That way event goers don't have to arrive too drunk to locate the refreshment vendors....

This lady had run out of kalbi so she tried selling me the kalbi bones (with meat). I was going to get money and go back but got distracted.

Gun shows tend to be held in public venues that have contracted refreshment vendors.  So you wind up paying the same for a soda, beer or hotdog whether you go to a gun show or a concert.  Price is set by the vendor, not the venue.

For $10 that's 7 hot dogs with refillable drinks at CostedCo

In the 90s I went to the Sacramento CA show a couple of times - it was a pretty good sized show back then.  The busiest vendor sold Ammo - pallets and pallets of ammo.  People would buy 8 cans of milsurp ammo at a time (ammo was cheap back then).  The vendor next to the ammo guys rented hand trucks.  $10 and you left your driver's license to ensure you returned the hand truck.   He was also very busy.

About 40 something years ago it was a tradition to bring food to share at the gun show. I think the no food rule was a covid thing.
A lot of my friends who have tables brought stuff to eat for lunch.
