Wait… What post of mine were you arguing against?  The one where I said that if you say “fewer black people means less crime” was racist? Or the one where I said “You can post facts…”?

Just to refresh your memory, here’s the order in which things happened:

1) OP makes openly racist statement, implying that race causes crime.
2) I point out that the OP’s statement was openly racist.
3) You post statistics that show correlation, but with no support for causation.
4) I point out that correlation≠causation
5) OP replies with post about being “objective.”
6) I reply including the “you can post facts” statement.
7) You say that your post in “3)” was arguing against my post in “6)”, which hadn’t happened yet…?

You’re welcome to believe that the original post wasn’t expressing a racist point of view; I was just pointing out the logical inconsistency there.

Punchline from a very old joke.

Think about it.

Hadn’t heard that one before.

And just to be clear, I AM here for the hunting.

Really?

Seems like you're just here to argue for your opinions without sticking to the topic.

The fact you never heard that joke tells me:

1)  You heard it but don't remember jokes that might hit close to home
2)  You have no friends who like you enough to share jokes
3)  You had to have someone explain it to you which made the joke not funny
4)  You're too young to be as authoritative as you pretend
5)  All of the above

1) No, I don’t believe I’ve ever heard it.
2) Possible… I can’t really speak to how much my friends like me; you’d have to ask them.
3) Nope, got it the first time and got a chuckle from it.
4) Definitely not.
5) Covered by previous answers.

Sorry if this has dragged off-topic; I wasn’t going to let that blatantly racist comment go without calling it out, and then I felt like I had to clarify the inaccurate statements about what I said and/or meant.

Happy to leave it here, since you’ve now gone the ad hominem route.   :shaka:

Edit: I DO enjoy a good argument, though, so thanks.

What a drama queen "No sewer. No water. No sidewalks, no drains," said Sen. Kurt Fevella, who represents Ewa Beach. "When it rains heavy it floods up to my ankles so I don't know how they're going to try to justify the need."

"Some of these guys live here since 1930s and 40s," Fevella said. "They said that this property will change the whole quality of life."

so these people have to be in their 80s at least...

It is easy,   just do like Hawaii county does,   zone most everyting AG.
I don't have sewer, water, sidewalks, or drains and I like it that way.
One thing I don't want to do is live close to troublesome people.
I really don't care if people can't afford to live here,
I do it why can't they?

P.S.
Why is it called Honolulu county and not Oahu county?

Something like L.A. county and southern Calif.

Why is it called Honolulu county and not Oahu county?
 :shaka:

Before 1907, there was the City of Honolulu and the County of Oahu.

The two were consolidated in 1907 as The City & County of Honolulu.

King Kamehameha III, on August 31, 1850, officially declared Honolulu a city and the capital of his kingdom.  Honolulu had been the de facto capital since 1845.

Consolidation made sense rather than having two governing bodies overseeing the city and the county independently.

So side note, but somewhat related. Our Atty General uses HI's almost 2 centuries of HI law as "historical tradition" with sensitive places.  Funny how at first they said 120 years. Then changed it to 150 years. Then 170 years, and most recently "nearly 2 centuries".  It's like they're grasping at something.  But they left out the part about Bruen how rulership under a King wouldn't apply.

The relocation of homeless to other states via air travel gets a lot of attention, but the practice is much, much bigger than tax-funded relocations to & from Hawaii.

Bussed out
How America moves its homeless
Each year, US cities give thousands of homeless
people one-way bus tickets out of town

Sept 2017

Quote
Cities have been offering homeless people free bus tickets to relocate elsewhere for
at least three decades. In recent years, homeless relocation programs have become
more common, sprouting up in new cities across the country and costing the public
millions of dollars.
Quote
In an 18-month investigation, the Guardian has conducted the first detailed analysis
of America’s homeless relocation programs, compiling a database of around 34,240
journeys and analyzing their effect on cities and people.
