Both girlfriend and I submitted our applications Feb. 28. She got approval letter July 28. = 151 days / 22 weeks wait. I'm still waiting.
Little extras;
We took the same class, qualified for two guns each, submitted application the same day. Girlfriend had two discrepancies (passport number changed, citizen born abroad) and had two follow up calls in the first month, corrected over the phone. After a few months I would call in checking on the status of our applications. Recently I call in maybe once every two weeks, get the robot lady at firearms saying "It's being reviewed, you'll get a certified letter 10 dollars blah blah thank you don't bother me bye" so I tried the "speak to your supervisor/sergeant" route which does nothing. Moral of the story, she had mistakes never followed up and got hers before me. Luck of the draw.. or they help whoever bothers them the least.
Tips; Sign up for the USPS informed delivery. You'll see a pic of the certified letter in your e-mail the morning of and make sure you're home as no one is allowed to sign for you. You also get separate certified letters and licenses for each gun you qualified/applied for. Dumb extra step to slow everything down.
