Any places that people recommend that can do a pin and weld. Obviously for a barrel and a muzzle device.

i can highly recommend John Thomas at Retro Arms Works, Warsaw, IL.

if you're only sending it out for pin & weld, and nothing else, the round-trip shipping will be "discouraging", part of the cost-of-living in Hawaii.  However you package it up to send it out, that's what he uses to return it, so if you pack it crappy, that's what you'll get back.

I usually send him my projects for pinning the A2 FSB to the barrel, pin & weld muzzle devices, things like that.

you start off by sending him an email for a price quote, jntmjt1@yahoo.com.

his work quality is top notch, and turn-around time is typically 1-2 days.  read up about him on arfcom.
I used to send my stuff to Randall at AR15barrels.com, but his turn-around time varied from 2 weeks to 2 months, quality work, though.  had a few barrels shortened, threaded, pinned & welded MD.  Even some 1/2-36 for 9mm PCC.

Call me crazy, but not everyone is into gunsmithing to the point of investing in good welding equipment.  Sometimes it's a good thing to support local businesses where you can trust the workmanship.

I'm not a gunsmith by any means!!!!!!!!!!!
I can do simple operations that do not affect safety.
I have those tools.
and youtube/rumble.
As a rule I do not trust most local Hawaii workers.
I have worked with them.
Some are pretty casual with serious things.

I don't disagree with any of that.  I don't let anyone come in to work on my house unless I just don't have the strength/numbers to get the job done myself.  Too many negative experiences.

I learned you can often save money and learn valuable skills if you purchase the tools and do it yourself.  I've taught myself a bunch of "skills', and that began long before the Internet and YouTube.  For more complicated work, YT is a godsend.

You have to balance how likely you are to ever use those tools again with hiring someone or renting the tools.  Some jobs are a one time thing, or so far between each other you have to buy new tools anyway because yours are lost, broken or totally rusted.

DIY are my initials.

They just didn't want to do it.
I'm just a hobby farm and my welding stuff always works.

Yes, but I'm on the Big Isle.
Got all these Hawaii laws
Y'all like to observe.
Might be pushing it a bit.
I certainly have skills
and tools to do it.
Pretty simple thing to do.

I assume the firearm is an AR-style rifle?  Uppers are not illegal to ship or possess.  Although shipping costs would be more than the welding job, i'd imagine.
