I read a story where in old Japan, only the cowards were left because all the honorable commited Seppuku.  Same with these, much of the bad ass members are gone or won't join.  Leaving us with more not so bad ass ones. This is a very vague statement, but you get the concept.

No normal soldier wants to work for or defend a Democrat.

i guess recruitment would be higher than otherwise in a bad economy.  College is too expensive and/or hard for some to be admitted, even if they can get student loans.  It's all relative.

Military is still a viable option to learn a trade, pick up many skills, have no worries about paying bills if you budget your spending with free housing, food, uniforms, healthcare, etc, etc.

I exited the military at the beginning of the Clinton presidency under the VSI/SSB drawdown post Cold War.  They gave me a chunk of change (more than two year's salary) to basically sell back my retirement.  I had just shy of 10 years active duty, so i decided to get out while they were paying.  I also didn't want to be left in a situation where only the less-competitive officers remained.  I'd be worked to death to further those people's careers.  I noticed most of the employable members were jumping ship at the same time.  "Do more with less -- and with the least capable" seemed to be where it was headed.

Anyway, i was fortunate to have served over 5 years under Reagan and 4 under G. H. W. Bush.  I was discharged Sept 1992, and Clinton was elected Nov 1992.

Good timing.

The voluntary separation incentive is annual payments for a period twice as
long as the years a member served. The amount of each payment is 2.5 percent of the
member’s final annual base pay times the number of years served.

Under the special separation benefits package, servicemembers will receive a
lump sum payment of 15 percent of annual base pay times the number of years served.

Meanwhile, the navy (of course!) is using drag queens as part of enlistment effort..

https://totalnews.com/us-navy-used-drag-queen-influencer-to-attract-a-wide-range-of-new-troops-as-recruitment-plummets/#:~:text=The%20Navy%20has%20brought%20active-duty%20sailors%20and%20drag,told%20The%20Daily.%20told%20the%20Kohler%20News%20Foundation.

I can see that.  Drag queens are female impersonators.  There's a long tradition of male sailors impersonating women for skits and events, because women were not allowed to serve on military ships.

So I understood in boot camp when one DI would relish telling of us each week how many sailors had been kicked out for homo acts.

Policies have changed.

There is a lot of pride for America.
There is none for a modern Democrat run USA.
I should probably start to use the term "Uniparty".

^^^This.

I think the government has been using the military for social experimentation for many decades now. It started with desegregation, then women in noncombat jobs with lower physical fitness standards, then women in combat roles, 0 tolerance for drinking and driving on base, drug testing and treatment, sexual harassment training, Gays and Lesbians serving openly after "don't ask, don't tell," ... many of these and other policies were often ahead of the policies and laws applied to the civilian population at large.

Now a military member can get free drug treatment to transition, because "equality."  Plus the tax payers are on the hook for gender reassignment surgery to the tune of up to $200,000 per person.

Transgender surgery is now free for military,
thanks to Biden executive order

Quote
Taxpayers will now foot the bill for gender reassignment surgery for active military
personnel and veterans, with some treatments costing upward of $200,000 under
an executive order signed by President Biden.

Tucked inside Biden’s Jan. 25 transgender order, “Enabling All Qualified Americans
to Serve Their Country in Uniform,” is a clause that repeals an Obama-era policy
that prohibited federally funded reassignment surgery. This was followed up by
memos from both Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Veterans Affairs Secretary
Denis McDonough specifically stating that surgery is now an added benefit.

We jumped the shark long ago.  Now we're living in an alternate reality free of logic and common sense.  If that's not a carrot to entice anyone who believes they are transgender to join, I don't know what else would.

No shit Sherlock.
They were pulling this crap in the early 70's
Main reason why I left as I wanted to be a lifer.
Political BS became too much.
Every time we had a Democrat CIC
it became intolerable for professional
soldiers.(Nixon sucked also)
Pay sucked and even a $10,000 bonus to re-enlist
was not enough for me to want to work for Carter.
and his racial crap.
I'm a white straight male.
FU Democrats and what you do to our military!

Update

The US soldier shane something who IDs as a dude (born female), also claimed to ID as part of a native american tribe. The tribe posted that she is not a member.

Do we see a pattern....

When I hear about cuts to the military, I always imagine not buying new equipment, or reducing the numbers of vehicles the military has. I never considered destroying the moral of the people that have, or would enlist, and convince the rest that America isn't worth defending. I wonder what the next incentive to get people to enlist will be, free Bud Light?
