20 Years Down The Drain
« on: May 11, 2023, 04:58:19 AM »
This is a story about the guy that came up with those amusing Bud beer commercials >:(
The guy was brilliant. I loved the commercials. When I reconnect with old friends I still say "wazzzupp"

'It took me 20 years to build this brand... they dismantled it in a week', says man behind Bud's iconic ads
Robert Lachky, whose adverts in the 1990s helped Budweiser become America’s most popular beer, said two decades of work had been ruined over Bud Light’s Dylan Mulvaney fiasco.

Budweiser's management deserves this.  100%.  In my opinion they won't recover.  Ever.

Apologizing for the bad decision and owning it might help.  Making excuses only makes it worse.

But that seems to be the trend nowadays.  Excuses.  No accountability.

Budweiser must have learned that from our politicians.

The only thing that could save them, but they're too chicken shit to do is fire anyone who was involved with this. Reason, you lost us millions. Name another job where you can lose the company millions and not get immediately fired. But it's too late now. They're chicken shit of the backlash from not their customers (trannies and SJW).

Somebody in the company hired the dimwit who made the video about how the brand has to change its “fratty” and “out-of-touch” image if they want to grow the brand -- i.e. reach younger consumers.

Now, let's go back a little in time to when that same person, "Budweiser’s vice president of marketing Alissa Heinerscheid, could be seen in images on her now-deleted Facebook page enjoying a campus scavenger hunt, blowing up condoms like balloons, and downing beers during a 2006 “boozefest.”  "

She seemed to enjoy the Greek Life at Harvard while partying at an alleged “haven of inebriated ditzes.”

Quote
Heinerscheid and her college pals can be seen in an album titled “Isis Senior Reverse
Initiation Scavenger Hunt,” where the co-eds held a talk about “the exploration of the
scrotum professors.”

The photos appeared to have been taken during an event hosted by Harvard’s ISIS Club,
a group founded to create a “safe social space for women” to socialize on campus.

The club, however, was slammed by the Harvard Crimson student newspaper in 2005
as a “haven of inebriated ditzes” who took part in “boozefests.”

Many on social media called out Heinerscheid as a hypocrite for appearing to take part
in the same fratty culture she claimed the beer company needed to do away with.
To see those photos, click:

Not only did the company hire her, but they also hired the '3rd party marketing firm" they are now throwing under the bus, saying that company initiated the Mulvaney partnership with Bud Light without AB's knowledge.

Sorry, AB, but you don't get to pretend like these people you want to blame are not part of your business.  If you hired them, you own their screw-up.  That's how business works.  If you wanted final approval of anything that marketing firm did and it wasn't spelled out, that's on you.

I would also assume someone at Anheiser watches or looks at all ads before publishing.  I mean is it common practice for them to blindly let ads be published?  If it is, who ever made that policy should be fired too.
