While deaths make the headlines, the number of violent crimes involving firearms have been higher than pre-2017 numbers.

The primary cause is considered to be drugs.

"A Hawaii criminologist says there’s been a shift and she believes it’s likely tied to Hawaii’s drug crisis."

So, not caused by the Bruen decision, concealed carry license holders, or other laws related to legal gun ownership.  It's about criminals involved in the drug trade using guns illegally.
