I get rather tired of the assertion than men can change the climate.
They can certainly can and  have polluted the environment,
but change climate I don't see that.
if we can make more hurricanes, we could certainly stop one.
And do it in a measurable fashion.
Not some political BS.
that cannot be measured or objectively evaluated.

i just watched the Gerald Butler movie Geostorm.

Not to spoil it, the plot is that Butler designed, built with international support, and launched a space station controlled network of satellites that could control the weather.  No more droughts, floods, tornados, blizzards, heat waves, hurricanes, etc., etc.  There were groups of satellites programmed to manage the weather in various countries (important detail).

So, after years of getting the system online and proven to work, the UN decided to take over the management of it and replace some of Butler's long-time team members with people they selected.

Turns out, the satellite system makes a damned good weapon if you target specific countries and disrupt the weather -- basically doing the opposite of the system's purpose.

Anyway, it was a good "lesson" -- that the power to control the weather for the good of the many also offers the  opportunity to misuse it for the good of the few at the expense of the many.

I imagine something like this being tried, and just like Project DESTINI in The Core, we'll wind up intentionally or unintentionally destroying the human race, if not the planet itself, and it'll be a miracle if we can fix it.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

NASA admits that climate change occurs because of changes in Earth’s solar orbit, and NOT because of SUVs and fossil fuels

I wonder what safeguards are in place for new tech so 1 doesn't accidentally destroy the world?  Like when experimenting with the A-bomb (Manhattan Proj). Or if a rouge nation also asked for the tech.  "Give us the general tech or we will experiment on our own and it could go off and affect neighboring countries due to fallout".  Has NK ever tested a nuke?

A history of North Korean nuclear tests

North Korea conducted six explosive nuclear tests between 2006 and 2017. The most recent test generated the largest explosive yield.

Only some arrogant ass thinks man can destroy the Earth.
We are more than capable of killing each other off,
but the Earth will do just fine without us.
