Looks like the deep state has their two favorite candidates picked out and is sweeping away the rest

Maybe we should hire the Wagner group and let them solve the deep state problem.
I hear they are looking for work now.
It should be easy, we saw how much fear a few un-arned people
caused in the halls of Congress.

Man, I was all in on DeSantis. He was doing some awesome things as governor of Florida during the lockdowns, but then I found out his presidential campaign is being run by the Bushes 🤨. Kinda disappointing 😔 not too sure who I’ll support. I mean definitely over newsome

Well N vs D is the plan, but lately their plans kinda have a habit of blowing up in their face.

Not sure why that's a negative.  We've had two Bush Presidents and a couple of governors.

They must know how to run a successful campaign.

I don't think WH national and foreign policies are going to be dictated by the campaign managers.  Besides, all new presidents are invited to avail themselves of the knowledge and experience of previous ones.  How often they do that, we'll never know.

So don't be surprised if Republicans are calling Democrats to ask for input on certain issues and situations.  i doubt the last couple of Democrat Presidents did this, judging how badly they f@%ked up everything they touched!

Bush family is as deep state as they come. All their policies turned into total disasters.

Yup. 👍 I’m sure they’re not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts either. Jr. is responsible for the patriot act as well. 🙄

Why was GW Bush solely responsible?  Seems like he had just a little help from Congress since he can't pass legislation without the support of YOUR elected representatives.
Quote
On October 23, 2001, U.S. Representative Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI)
introduced House bill H.R. 3162, which incorporated provisions from a
previously-sponsored House bill, and a Senate bill introduced earlier in
the month.[6] The next day, October 24, the Act passed the House by a
vote of 357–66,[7] with Democrats comprising the overwhelming majority
of "no"-votes. The three Republicans voting "no" were Robert Ney of Ohio,
Butch Otter of Idaho, and Ron Paul of Texas. On October 25, the Act
passed the Senate with a vote of 98–1. Russ Feingold (D-WI) voted "no".[8]
On October 26, then US President George Bush signed the Patriot Act
into law.[9]

i always marvel at how a president in office at the time that pretty much anything happens gets the blame or credit regardless of what 435 elected Representatives and 100 elected Senators did.

Lol no I blame the others as well, and because we are idiots who elect the same people over and over again a lot of them are still in office 20+ years later 🙄
But yes the president usually shapes policy and leads his party, and if his party has the house and senate the president is largely responsible for policy.
I believe Ron Paul was one of the few who voted against it I wish we had more people like him now.

Party politics is killing what the Dems like to call "our democracy!"  As far as I can tell, the democratic process of electing our representatives is a closed system.  we vote for the people who run, and regular, honest people who are willing to run are rare.

I listen to the people in Congress regurgitating the prepared remarks their staffers wrote, and it makes me want to regurgitate, too. They quite often have no clue about the facts, yet are okay with spouting reasons, causes and solutions based on emotional appeal.  The lead Dems who get the most on-camera time are the biggest offenders.  I see fewer in the GOP who do that, but it could be because the Liberal media doesn't give then the same amount of coverage.

Anyway, the Patriot Act did some good things, like putting terrorists in Cuba away from the US legal process which would have been inadequate to facilitate the methods needed to execute a war.  There was abuse, but that's going on in US prisons, too, to an extent.  Imagine the regular inmates being around terrorists and being radicalized.

The 9-11 and anthrax attacks are what really spurred the need for the Patriot Act.  There were sunset provisions that would have ended the Act in 2005, but it has been extended several times since then.  That includes an extension signed by Obama in 2011.  Obviously, for all of its failures, the Patriot Act must be at least in part worth keeping if it remains law after so many opportunities to let it die.  Those opportunities also happened under a Democrat-controlled Congress and White House.

It’s called Deep State, not Deep President

Bush Jr was a puppet just like Biden. He pushed the same disastrous foreign and economic policies as Clinton, and Obama carried them along after that.

Maybe he's learned how to evaluate the candidates much better since 2020.

He never said Newsome would be a competent president.  He just thinks any GOP candidate would be worse.  Same TDS mindset that got Biden elected -- the oldest, Whitest, most out of touch President I've ever seen, which happens to be the main characteristics the Democrats complain about when talking about Republican Presidents and members of Congress.  That's in addition to the loss of his faculties.

He obviously hasn't been watching the REAL news about California the last few years.

There are the guys that complain about this site “leaning only one way” or an “echo chamber”. Yeah no shit cuz it’s a pro gun site and the only politicians that are pro 2A seem to be only on the right.

They don’t like conservatives? Fine. Show me a liberal politician that supports the 2A. Even manchin who supposedly comes from a pro 2A state seems to vote for a ton of gun control.

Take the gun component out of it, what the fuck has newsom done for his state that is better than Desantis?

We could create a sub topic area for Moms Demand Action, but we may get people there who are looking for moms who want action.
