Gotta try it at least once. How far did you go?

The should have had Disney sponsor The Rail so people think it's a theme park ride.

....
I went from Don Quixote Waipahu to the stadium. If I jumped on in the morning, I could have gone to the swap meet. Darnit
The experience was very pleasant and efficient. I wanted to go swap meet today via rail but I gotta go pistol range today.😁

Rode it today and it was pleasant.  Took 24 minutes to go end to end.  Ride was okay, just gotta adjust the brakes when it comes to a stop, little jarring still.

Everyone paid thousands to build the rail, so get your free ride in.  And do it before it gets ghetto.

Access to the train is via holo card. To leave the loading platforms you have to swipe the card again.
I presume there is video surveillance too, so vandals and vagrants would have a hard time.
There was extra staffing for this weekend only, but regular staff seemed adequate for daily operations.
There was an interesting high-security area at the stadium platform. Presumably a contol room of sorts.

I suppose if you work in the Pearl Ridge area the Rail could offer an alternative.  But it depends on your work schedule because the rail seems to work on City and County schedule, lol!

My temp office is located between two of the bigger stations.  Not many people in the office today, but heard a bunch of folks discussing and sounds like real option for many of them to get to work.  Parking situation around here is terrible, and is expected to get much worse once some key construction projects get rolling.

I saw it at the Waipahu station. Going to town on Sunday was full house (people standing). Coming back was full, but all seated.

Christine Uyeno had "Dr. Green" on this morning, where she called the rail operation "SNAFU". . . Green didn't even respond to that. . .

For those who don't know, the rail website says closed daily at 7pm. But from 7/1 and over the 4th holiday, it will close at 6. People were stranded cause they thought 7pm was closing. Then 1 car got stuck for 20 mins in Halawa. IDK if it was the station or mid line.

Lots of people's work schedules do not coincide with the typical 9-5 that many people believe is the standard.

It is not.  Especially if you work retail, which to me employs most of the people who need to work 2 jobs to make ends meet.

So the Rail is failing the people from the get go by closing at 7 pm.

I see some use of the limited rail.  People living in Kapolei going to work in town, you have to wait in that huge traffic jam every morning and same in the afternoon.  It might be faster to catch the rail to halawa and transfer to a bus.

I might consider using it when it fully opens.  Buy a lightweight electric scooter to go from the rail station to the office in town.  Mainly to save on parking fees.

Depends how ghetto it becomes.

I can forsee what will happen.  Not enough people use the rail and tax revenue goes down.  Maintenance is more expensive than planned.  Interest rates rise on the loans.

Gotta cut the staffing.

I'm not sure how trained the security is too, I'd imagine bare minimum shopping mall level security
