Fireworks around my Mililani neighborhood were eerily quiet this year.
I heard about a dozen really big "BOOMs", and a few more smaller or distant ones. Nothing at midnight.
Maybe it was the midweek factor -- people wanted to sleep for work on Wednesday.
Or, maybe it's the fabulous Biden economic plan and the massive inflation that deprived people of the willingness or ability to blow up a huge chunk of change.
i'd add maybe it was better government work at stopping the import of illegal fireworks, but we all know that would be a stretch!
Regardless, I had a very pleasant night ... didn't have to close the windows just so I could breathe, and the pets only had to deal with about 3 minutes of continuous noise -- the rest was sporadic.
