HPD said the suspect struck the victim several times with a machete, causing injuries to the victim’s forehead, shoulder and cheek.

Wish the news would post pictures of the injuries.  It'd make people wake up to self defense.

Wouldn't be surprised he's out already.

Petition Gov. Green for multiple machete control laws.
We need to protect our sweet innocent 17-18-19 yr old children from these weapons of mass dissection..
Think of the children!

1- MANDATORY REGISTRATION of all machetes.
2- Mandatory safety training for all machete-wielding drug abusers.
3- Total BAN on Assault-Machetes
4- Require mandatory classes for a license to carry a machete outside of your property.

The legality of legally carrying a machete must go way back to the plantation days.  As a kid it was very common to see mostly Filipino men walking around with their cane knives because back then on the north shore where I grew up sugar cane was king and the main employer of everyone there.

The trucks loaded with workers used to drop them off at the end of the street after pau hana and the men would walk home with their cane knives dangling off their belts while holding their lunch kits.

Plantation housing back then.  Clusters of homes where the employees could rent for cheap.  Your co-worker you work with side by side in the fields also live couple of houses down away from yours.

Now with sugar no longer the driving economy here, the machetes have no reason to leave the property of homes.

Except to do what is happening nowadays.  I'm looking forward to an all out melee of machete wielding and baton wielding nutjobs going at it at some district park.

I wonder what ethnic group is using machetes to assault or threaten people.  Or is that being racist?

According to Hill, the way the scene was scripted wasn't working, so the director was
challenged to come up with something in the moment. For this scene in gang classic
The Warriors, Kelly was inspired by his background in Broadway and a creepy
neighbor he knew while living in downtown New York, who used to taunt him by calling
his name is in a "sing songy" way (via Book & Film Globe). At the time, small bottles of
beer were also in vogue and littered the location, so Kelly improvised "Warriors, come
out to play!" pretty much on the spot.

Luther's "Warriors, come out to play!" is the most quoted line from The Warriors, and has
been referenced in the likes of The Simpsons and Luke Cage.

No,  it is being accurate.
Somewhat like when you hear about
people being shot in Chicago. You know the race
of the victims and the culprits.

Here I'm being a painter with a broad brush,
but most every Filipino I've known or worked with,
preferred edged weapons over guns.
I presume because it is more personal.
You get to see their terror as you kill them.

I prefer shooting from a distance, since my goal is
elimination/harvesting of an opponent rather than
animal lust satisfaction.

Stereotypes exist for a reason.

Even when evidence exists that there are individuals in a group who don't demonstrate a given stereotype, it doesn't disprove the stereotype for the majority.

White men can't jump.

White men can't dance.

Girls are more emotional than boys.

etc.

No. That is a stereotype. Somehow we forgot the distinction between the two.
