China is a sovereign nation state that has every right to make whatever rules regarding the personal ownership of gold of its citizenry as it deems important to its national financial interests.


Anecdotal stories at its best, total anti-China fabrication at its most realistic.

BTW, surely you must be aware that the US empire has and can confiscate gold of its own citizenry whenever it feels like it as well.  Let's not forget President Roosevelt's Executive Order 6102 which required U.S. citizens to deliver on or before May 1, 1933, all but a small amount of gold coin, gold bullion, and gold certificates owned by them to the Federal Reserve, in exchange for $20.67 per troy ounce.
