Sensitive places lawsuit donations
« on: August 01, 2023, 04:06:03 PM »
This is the Wolford, HIFICO, et al. CCW lawsuit challenging

-Beaches/parks
-Restaurants that serve alcohol
-All private property

The state is using DC lawyers.

Many wanted CCW for decades, and now that we have it, the state and counties ban ccwing EVERYWHERE.  We are fighting this.

I hope those in HPD who support the 2A don't enforce this law.  Officers have the discretion to issue a "warning" and let the CCW holder go home.  Logan himself said this law is hard to enforce.

I think 95% of the cops would arrest a violator.

Mahalo for posting this. I checked the link and was surprised to find out we’re still far away from the $20k goal. I honestly expected to have already surpassed the goal by now and have the reserve for the next legal fight in court.

This forum has got a few hundred members and how about $5 each at the least? That’s a cup of coffee we spare for something we truly want for a very long time; and we have outstanding individuals actually representing all of us and isn’t this is a win for us all already?

I believe in helping those who help me and thanking them also.

I already donated what I comfortably could. But I have a pledge to make. I will donate $1 for each 2AHI member who donates at least $10 between today 8/10 through 8/12 midnight, up to $1000.  So, if a 2AHI member donated $10 or more, message me a screenshot of your donation with your name, initials, or 2AHI username as donor so I can verify, and I will make $1 donation on 8/15.  I will make a one-time donation on 8/15 up to $1000 after I get a full count of those who participated.  You can donate multiple $10 but I will only put $1 per 2AHI member/donor.  I can post a screenshot of my donation on 8/15 if needed for transparency.  Mahalo!

Well then??? And I better pass on my coffee drinks for the next couple months or so but it will be so much worth it.

This hasn't been posted yet on hifico social media pages. So pretty much it's all word of mouth.  But I can see the apathy kick in and you're right how little is donated.  I even have a friend who I sent the link to and he said he doesn't have $ right now.  So I asked, even $5?  He said no. Yet on his IG he's out partying and buying coffee from Coffee Bean n Tea Leaf.  I mean, $5 is 1 coffee.  He also plans to apply for his CCW.

With 800 people pending, if all should donate $100. That's $80,000 easily.  But again, this wasn't posted on social media yet. But you get where I'm going with this.  Same went with testimonies that were posted. We got at low end 80 to oppose and 140 on the high end. There should have been at least 400 writing to oppose of the 800 CCW applicants. That's 50% due to some cannot write testimonies due to their job or other factors like that, or no internet.

Sad.  They like something but they no like help achieve it.  But they like it.

Sad.

Claim nomo even $5 for the cause but can buy $5 coffee.  Probably several times a day every day.  But will apply for CCW.

I no see the logic to that.

All I can say is if we not careful "What goes around comes around....."

DONE

You should too.  Be generous.  I know not many of us are shooting as regularly as we used to, because this city and state has been on an infringement rampage.  Use the money you would have burned on ammo to actually shoot back at tyranny through the legal system.

Yup, they were provided pro bono (free) according to the AG Lopez's statement.  IIRC they're from EveryTown and have prior SCOTUS experience (not a judge) or something.

IMO, ET has to penny up for this or they risk losing their org as one by one gun control laws will fall.  Then so will their membership numbers. Then rich anti 2a contributors who want guns taken away from us peons so they can control us easier will have to find another way for them to get tax deductions.

The opposing counsel doing it for free is a different org, but they're all related.

It's Neal Katyal, Obama's former Solicitor general who has a lot of SCOTUS experience and is one of the top civil rights attorneys in the nation.  He's part of Georgetown Law's Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection who is defending the State for free.

Yea I know, weird a civil rights attorney and org is fighting this case.  Like the ACLU, they don't recognize 2A as a civil right.
