Bought ammo a few days ago and was asked to sign my name and signature. Worker said it was a new law.

May have to do with the firearms industry liability law.

Probably says you're not going to use it in a crime.

Not going to make a difference.

OGC

The new sales people give off a weird vibe. Went there last year and I don't think I'm going back.

I dont think there is a law that specifically states names and signatures for ammo purchases. so the question is, what happens if you refuse?

I would.  I'd go somewhere else to see if this is a legit thing.  And I'd tell them exactly that.  I haven't heard of something like this.

There's no new law requiring names and signatures.

It's their own policy.  Likely an attempt to remove liability from the store.due to the new laws.

I told the stores if hb426 passed, the stores would have to implement their own gun control policies to avoid liability from it.  OGC did not testify, get involved in opposing it, or respond.

It was cool when it was just Carter in that little hole in the wall, but over the past few years the creep factor has gone through the roof.

OGC was cool when it was small.  But it's been going downhill ever since.  Can't blame him too much as OGC was supposed to be a gun range but failed.  It's just a store without any community ties or 2a involvement.

#1 I wouldn't sign anything. It's not like they have a monopoly on stuff. So shop else where.

#2 They don't do anything to support the cause (that I know of), and even posted on here years ago why.  I mean, his excuse makes some sense, but enough is enough.

#3 I went there once and when the owner had to take a piss, he had all the staff leave the show room and wait outside while he used the restroom.  I mean, maybe he was burned prior by an employee stealing while he was in the can. But I've never seen any stores here or in Vegas do this. This gave me a very bad vibe.

"#3 ... owner had to take a piss ..."

Should that not be #1?     :geekdanc:

At this point, it's just water under the bridge ...

As for making the employees walk outside, isn't that one reason for installing cameras -- employee misbehavior?  Cameras also assist in liability issues, worker's comp claims, shoplifting, customer disputes, etc.

I guess his solution was the quickest, easiest and least expensive.

I have no problem signing my name.

I hope there aren't many other Aaron Wards on island.

I'd have no problem signing your name either.

OGC seems to be in their own world. They don't come to the gun show, they don't get involved with the legislative side, etc.
I like their store but the owner doesn't have the best people skills.

That is an odd thing for him to ask people to do.

are you taking after Jack Reacher, what was it, 3rd base man from 1950's, or something like that.

I guess I should have left a clue.

Oh, wait!  I did!   :geekdanc:

Quote
Reacher introduced himself as Aaron Ward, and it's obvious that Cash
recognizes the name of the 1925 Yankees' second baseman. Cash
pauses and says the name to confirm.

Cash says, "Play ball!" after Reacher is allowed his practice shot, so now
the real shooting can take place. That reference to baseball is a tip-off to
Reacher that his cover has been blown, even before he takes his excellent
shots to reveal who he is.
