Biden slammed for silence on Maui wildfire catastrophe
Quote
... the president offered a stony-hearted “No comment” when asked about the death toll,
which has climbed to at least 96.

Bloomberg reporter Justin Sink posted a photo of Biden lounging with a group of
people on Rehoboth Beach Sunday afternoon, triggering outrage on social media.

“I campaigned for you,” raged former Hawaii legislator Kaniela Ing early Monday.
“Now, when I lose dozens of my friends, family, and neighbors. This?”

“Biden doesn’t give AF [a f–k] about the suffering people of Maui,” tweeted Monica
Crowley, former US Treasury Department assistant secretary for public affairs
during the Trump administration.

Remember when Bush was excoriated in the media for his delay in publicly addressing the devastation from hurricane Katrina?  i wonder whether those same media groups will treat Biden the same for vacationing while Maui residents mourn and struggle to rebuild?  Would have been a perfect time for the Biden family to travel to Hawaii and get a firsthand look at the devastation, clean-up and assistance being provided.

Hawaii has beaches, too, Mr. Rhesident.

biden doesn't care about anybody or anything except his family.

His comment doesn't surprise me at all.

He's a pretender, depending on if it's advantageous to his career to care (or not).  In all fairness, he's not the only one.  We have pukes like that in Hawaii too.

He's been like that ever since he entered politics 40 something years ago.

Not gonna happen, blue HI voters are dumb.  Even read a comment on Kaniela Ings page when he was blaming Trump for the fire. Went something along the line of "I planned to vote for you, but you saying this is making me think about other candidates".  I mean, wow...

I get that he may not be brieffed on what's going on, but at least something along the line of "what is happening is terrible. We will work together to help the people there". He doesn't even need to know where Maui is.  I wouldn't fault him for that either.  But what we are seeing is when he isn't given a script, he goes down hill.

No they are just lazy and way too comfortable with corruption, but when roused they are a force to be reckoned with.

He can't make a statement without a teleprompter in front of him or a set of notes in addition to someone offstage gesturing to him as to when to speak, smile, wave, or trip.

He can't ad-lib.  Only smart people can.  See the "joe biden is not smart" thread.

I have to wonder if Biden even heard the question properly. It is not unrealistic for someone his age to not be able to hear the question right and thought it was about something else. That would seem the most likely explanation.

But if he did hear the question and couldn't manage at least a word of sympathy then well his marbles aren't all there.

He was asked for comment on the disaster more than once by different reporters.

If he didn't hear the question, then "no comment" was what?  His way of covering for being hard of hearing?

He could have stopped and asked for the question to be repeated and THEN decide if he would comment.

Chances are, he's tired of being asked about his son's corrupt business dealings, and the lies Joe's been telling concerning knowledge of those shady deals.  "No comment" is his default response for the press lately.

Nah.  biden heard and understood the question.

What a horrible and insensitive thing to say.  "No comment" is not something you say when lives and livelihood were lost and devastated.

That man has no heart.

Is he not competent enough to say "say again?" or "I can't hear you, repeat...".  Your whataboutism is weak on this one.

As POTUS, every response he makes can matter, so to think that Brandon just didn't hear the question is obsured.

Considering he never visited the trail derailment or US border after saying he would, it have my doubts.

His campaign staff wouldn't want the senile man to go.

Yep.  Never was.  Never will be.  From day one.  And I'm talking about 40 something years ago.

I see, I didn't know he had been asked more than once, I only saw the instance where they were outside and the reporter was some distance away and saw it was conceivable he didn't hear the question right.

I agree that it is also likely he says "no comment" all the time just to avoid some damning admission but this time it screwed up over.
