Costco: Small fire-rated safe on sale
« on: August 15, 2023, 05:04:47 PM »
Since there was discussion on protecting valuables in case of fire ...

Saw this at Waipio Costco today.  looks nice, easy to place out of sight, and good fire rating and waterproof specs.

Sanctuary Reserve 1.69 cu. ft. Fire Rated and
Waterproof Safe with Electronic Lock

https://www.costco.com/sanctuary-reserve-1.69-cu.-ft.-fire-rated-and-waterproof-safe-with-electronic-lock.product.4000101862.html

The current online sale price says $279 after $60 discount, but i could swear the sign at Costco said $249.  I failed to take a pic, so I could be mistaken.

Features:
- Perfect For All Home and Office Valuables
- Fire Rating: 120 minutes at 1800°F
- Exterior Dimensions: 17.25"W x 17"D x 19.25"H, Weight: 95lb
- Waterproof up to 7 Days
- Interior Volume 1.69 Cu Ft

The online prices at Costco.com are almost always higher than in store. Sometimes much higher.

The online prices at Costco.com are almost always higher than in store. Sometimes much higher.

If you mean prices for safes, I find that buying in-store for heavy items like this can be the same as online without having to pay shipping.  Or, they included a minor amount in the store to cover shipping.  So, the total is more than the online price, but shipping is less than online. Total for the in-store safe is a better deal.

It's hit-or-miss.  Look for sales, compare the in-store to online, and get the deal you like.

Sometimes you can get them to price match and sell the floor model at the online price, but their policy is to not do that.  Depends on the item and the manager.

Last full size safe I ordered from Costco online was discounted enough to save the cost of shipping.

I won't shop there as they ban CCW. Sams on the other hand allows it and has safes.
