I know what a listing vessel is.
I know what listless means.

So if I interpret his statement correctly, he just called a whole segment of the voter base a bunch of sinking ships.
That's not how you win the hearts and minds of the people.

Quote from: dictionary.com
Listless
—adjective

having or showing little or no interest in anything; languid; spiritless; indifferent

Vessel
— noun

a hollow or concave utensil, as a cup, bowl, pitcher, or vase, used for holding liquids or other contents.

So, “people who have little or no interest in anything, who are empty or vacant”?

Ah yes...a well crafted back handed insult to his would-be constituents.

Little bit more subtle than what good ole Hillary said.  But same thing.  And the way things are going, DeSantis is about to see the same results.

I had always thought a listless vessel was a good thing. I mean if I were out on the ocean I wouldn't want my boat to be listing.

If you actually watched the video interview and followed his explanation, he never called Trump supporters listless vessels.

He said a movement can't be about a person, but about principles -- what are you trying to achieve on behalf of the American people?

Then he said, '..., because if you're not rooted in principle, if all we are is listless vessels that are supposed to just follow whatever happens to come down the pipe on Truth Social every morning, that's not going to be a durable movement."

He never said that's what's happening.  He's simply explaining how a real political movement should be based on principles.  He used Truth Social as an example of a social media platform that Trump uses, but he could have just as easily said FB or Twitter/X.  We see the sheeple get wound up over the smallest things on social media that have nothing to do with the important issues we face -- and the majority of those cases don't involve Trump at all.

Kind of like this story.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
