In an interview with the Los Angeles Times on Friday, the "Get the Hell Out of Here"
singer spoke about her transition from country music over the last year. She primarily
blamed what she called "the Trump years" for allowing people to feel "proud" for being
"misogynistic and racist" in their music.

So, two things.

First, has she ever listened to Hip-Hop/Rap?  i think that genre let artists 'feel "proud" for being "misogynistic and racist" in their music.'  That was going on long before the "Trump years."

Second, why blame Trump for what other people are feeling?  If I'm "misogynistic and racist", but don't openly express it, is that really better than writing a song about it?  Does that change who I am?  No different than being a closet Gay, i would imagine.  Coming out doesn't change anything other than letting others know who you really are.

"Everything in the theater was beautiful until the lights came on.  Then I could see the filth and stains on the 30 year old carpet, the stains on nearly every chair cushion, and the blobs of gum and other treats permnently a part of the bare floor between the seats.  Damn the person who flipped the light switch!"

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
