Watching MIke Glovers podcast he mentions:

Many Israel homes have a safe room. But this wasn't enough as Hamas attackers would use explosives and fire to burn the people in there.

Pretty much the entire county has training because joining the IDF is required. So the citizens know how to fight and have been trained to fight.  Yet this happened.

To sum it up, this is 1 reason for the 2A as it took 6-8 hours for soldiers to get to the villages or areas that Hamas was executing people.

My friend is a flight attendant and gave up her Israel leg 1 day b4 the invasion happened.

Generally, when they fly to unsafe countries, they have a SOP if SHTF.

In this case the pilot is called and he has 5 mins to get downstairs and a car will be waiting. Then he is taken to the airport. The airlines dont give a shit abt the staff, but they care abt the plane.

If the pilots are cool, which was in this situation, he called all flight attendants only once and to come down to the lobby. If u not there by the time he is, then oh well.

Years ago she was in Lebanon and told to dont unpack. Leave ur suitcase at the door. U may get the get out of dodge call.

Israel said it will be a long and protracted fight.

But I always thought they meant once they go in.  (Ground assault).  Which I thought would be practically immediate.

I never thought they would hesitate on the ground invasion.

Could it be that outside pressures (US and other allies) are calling for patience?  So they can try diplomatic efforts?

I might be in the minority here but I think a ground invasion would incur less civilian casualties than just striking targets from afar with no idea how many civilians are within the danger area.

I mean, hello.....we already know Hamas is using them as human shields.

The US is way too predictable. It makes it extremely easy for someone to outmaneuver us. That’s the reason China and Russia backed off when Trump was in office. He was a wild card.

Nothing new.

snipped meme

There's a good reason the formerly pacifist Liberals are now cheering for violence and war.

In the 60s and 70s, they saw themselves as outside the establishment, rebelling against the warmongering, capitalist pigs of the Right.

Now that they have political power, they want to destroy all that remains of the Right Wing they protested against for decades.

They are too caught up in Leftist Socialist-Progressive ideology to see that they are now doing what they protested against.

Power corrupts, as they say, and the "pacificists" are not immune, as recent history has shown -- i.e. Obama intentionally droning US citizens while in a foreign country.

I think everyone is playing straight into Hamas's game.  First they release 2 American hostages.  Now 2 more elderly hostages for humanitarian reasons.

Huh?  Since when is Hamas all hunky dory with humanities?  They're playing with the US in hopes that the US continues to hamper Israel's efforts to get the ground invasion going.

You gotta go in.  And you gotta face and accept the reality that hostages will be killed.  If they're not dead already.  You cannot negotiate with terrorists.

If Israel wants to eliminate Hamas, then they have to start what they stated they will do in the beginning.  Invade and destroy the terror group.

Otherwise you are playing right into their hands......

Hamas used victim's phone to post murder on Facebook

Appeasement strategy does not work with countries like Iran and their proxy terror organizations.

Sometimes you gotta do a reset.  Cleaning house is never easy.

You can do the band-aid approach (appeasement).

Or you can clean house.  Things would get messy at first but you do get all the roaches, bugs, and rats out.

In some locations, Palestine supporters are starting to attack Jews.  Not only in the USA, but other European countries as well.  Are Jews attacking Palestinian supporters?

I don’t know if it’s that simple. Public perception matters and there are a lot of older people who rightfully support what Israel is/should do. So for now Israel may be ok but the younger generations are trending towards the pro-Palestinian side and if Israel goes in and flattens Gaza without any thought to innocent civilians I think that support will shift dramatically and Israel would not be able to survive long term. Unfortunately Israel is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Even without Israel attacking, the younger generation, typically socialist/communist college students and their friends support Palestine (Hamas).  Like the LGBTARW@QCASBATMANSIGN for Palestine, until they find out what they do to gays there.

Israel from the very beginning should have told the US:

Thanks but no thanks.  We got this.
