HI cant figure out how to deal with the deer on Maui. They wont be able to figure this out.

A sheep on the Big Island killed one a Soldier during training at Pohakuloa.  Driver in a HMMWV swerved to avoid one on the road and flipped the vehicle pinning someone under it.

My first “real” duty station after training was in Montana; lots of wildlife.  In the new guy safety briefing, they specifically said if you have a choice between hitting a deer and swerving off the road, hit the deer.  The briefer said “if you’re driving a government vehicle and you swerve into a ditch to avoid a deer, automatic Article 15.”  Kinda doubt he was serious, but made the point.

Moose, on the other hand… different story.  A moose will straight up kill you if you hit it at speed.  Or if you annoy it, or get between a mama moose and her calves.  I remember seeing a news story in Anchorage in the 90s about a guy getting stomped to death while leaving a gym, I think at the college.  Some jackass kids had been throwing rocks at it a few minutes earlier, and the old guy leaving the gym had no idea, just minding his own business.

A new state law was passed allowing hunters to donate meat to charities.  In the past this wasn't possible due to the difficulty in inspection and food standards.

They could do the same for pigs.  However pigs have a lot more diseases and parasites than deer.

Maybe because pigs are omnivores?  They eat anything. 

But if they could find a way to safely and economically utilize the meat that would be great.  Maybe just make jerky or something.  The US and Canada are getting invaded by these animals.

I also saw a video where they just buried a whole sh*tload of them into the ground to improve the soil.....ship boatloads of these animals to North Korea for their farmland.  I bet North Korea becomes our friends.  (They'll probably eat them instead).

Here is a little story...
Back in the day, (about 50 years ago) I was sitting by a pig pen under some kiawe trees.
I had my uncles 22 rifle. I heard a mynah bird sqawking high up in the trees.
My friend pointed it out and I got it. The bird fell into the pig pen.
About a minute or two later we heard a crunch-crunch-crunch sound.
Like I said, they eat anything. 

My daughter lives in one of the Townhome developments in Mililani Mauka.  Every morning at the crack of dawn the pigs come up to the Townhomes to snoop around for whatever get to eat.

Mostly the mama pig and the babies.  They don't bother.  They just look at you and scoot away.

What I worry about is a Boar with elevated testosterone levels.  Very agressive.

I took out a couple of piglets one night on the windward side. Thought it was a trash bag blowing in the wind until it was too late.

Moose are no joke. My friend from AK said if you hit one with you car, it's like hitting a wall. What's the plural of moose?  Meese like geese for goose?  Mooses?

The shitty part is like what Zipps said, you swerve and can hurt yourself or others instead of just hitting the animal. But it's human nature to swerve to not hit things like an animal, or another car coming into your lane. Happens all the time, another car merges and is going to hit you, so you swerve and hit the car next to you.
