Michael Talalotu knows firsthand the pain, and devastating consequences,  caused by gun violence.

Talalotu is the coach and uncle of Javen Lopez, the 18-year-old suspect charged in a deadly shooting at the Waianae Boat Harbor, and also shot in the incident.

The head coach and owner of The Original Westside Striking says the violence has to stop.

Born and raised in Waianae, Talalotu says he's watched violence grow, and friends and family suffer.

I think the solution is right there in front of them and it wasn't the fault of the gun.

Maybe people in positions of trust need to teach settling things WITHOUT VIOLENCE.  That means any and all kinds of violence.

Recommend you state what the "narrative' you speak of is, and state what assumptions you are referring to.  Otherwise, our interpretation of whatever it is you are saying could be way off from what you intended.
