Westside Calls to Stop GUN Violence

Michael Talalotu knows firsthand the pain, and devastating consequences,  caused by gun violence.

Talalotu is the coach and uncle of Javen Lopez, the 18-year-old suspect charged in a deadly shooting at the Waianae Boat Harbor, and also shot in the incident.

The head coach and owner of The Original Westside Striking says the violence has to stop.

Born and raised in Waianae, Talalotu says he's watched violence grow, and friends and family suffer.

I think the solution is right there in front of them and it wasn't the fault of the gun.

I vividly remember a coach from.that group or similar one in Waianae testifying at the Bill57 hearing.  People need to settle things with their fists, not with guns

Which is a point, from a different point of view.

Still no mention of parenting.

It's possible that might be part of how they parent.

Just an opinion.

Maybe people in positions of trust need to teach settling things WITHOUT VIOLENCE.  That means any and all kinds of violence.

Gee, what a concept.

Teaching that you need to settle differences with your fists is ridiculous.  i suppose they then turn around and say they are against bullying, too?

Contradictory?  Nahhhh....

At about 12:11 a.m. on Saturday, it was reported to the Honolulu Police Department that a motorist — who has yet to be identified — collided with three male adult pedestrians, aged 18, 19 and 20.
The motorist was traveling in the left lane eastbound on Farrington Highway while the three pedestrians were fighting.

I guess the three stupid retardeds were fighting in the middle of the street.  Stupid is what stupid does.  I guess.

Anyway the article mentioned it is currently unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol were contributing factors from the motorist.

More like AINOKEA.

Unless you intend to state specifics, your opinion has no basis.

Just sayin'.

Recommend you state what the "narrative' you speak of is, and state what assumptions you are referring to.  Otherwise, our interpretation of whatever it is you are saying could be way off from what you intended.

These kids grow up fast on the westside.  Attempted murder in a elementary school
No weapon noted, wonder if it was scissor violence.  Or we can shorten that to scissoring.

Student in custody following stabbing at elementary school

They treated an 11-year-old boy for a stab wound to “the upper body,” according to the agency.

It was scissoring

“The injury was allegedly caused by a pair of scissors that students had access to as part of an art activity,”

MMA is an art. Was it a tool or an MMA move? If it was MMA move they were heeding the calls to stop the gun violence and just scrap :shaka:

IIRC, CA filed a lawsuit against a maker for marketing a child size AR. I forgot what they called it,but it had it's own name.
