Gun ownership is the last bastion against governmental tyranny and foreign enemy invasion.  And in the clip, noodle brains fails to mention those mass shootings  essentially occurred in gun free zones.

Israel was invaded, and unarmed people were slaughtered.

Police did not protect them.

Military did not protect them.

Gun control did not protect them.

NOW Israel is reducing restrictions and recommending citizens arm themselves.

It always takes a massacre before government no longer argues that gun control makes us all safer.

And as soon as things calm down or the situation changes the government will begin the quick march to remove the “privilege” to bear arms. Israel’s citizenry needs to wake up and push back hard to change the privilege to a God given right….. :)

Honestly I was taken aback finding out how strict and restrictive Israel is as far as gun ownership.  I've always thought of Israel as a nation of citizen soldiers, ready to defend it at a moment's notice.

All this time I thought every household had guns.  This goes back to when I served.  My unit and myself always thought of the Israelis as bad asses and thought it was cool that a nation would have soldiers walking around with their weapons during duty, then taking them home, making it easier to respond at a moment's notice.

I also liked that every male (female also?) are in the ready reserve until age 55.  I wish the US had something like this.

Anyway, I think it's sad that it takes a tragedy like what happened recently for them to realize the importance of civilians being able to defend themselves.

Maybe one day the US will find themselves in the same predicament.  However, unlike the Israelis, who have lived with and amongst their enemies and have become battle hardened, the soft, crybaby, sensitive flowers of the US are in for a very hard and rude awakening.

One of the excerpts of the movie drives home the point that the 2nd Amendment is not an amendment about guns.

Its purpose is to protect the right of the people to protect themselves, their families, and their state from all threats.  "The right to keep and bear arms" applies to THE PEOPLE, and ARMS is a broad term that includes firearms, swords, knives, and any other bearable weapon that can used in self defense.

Anyone who wants to abolish the 2A is someone who doesn't believe in the right to self defense.  Get rid of the firearm aspect, and you get rid of self defense rights altogether.

Israel does have some sort of permit to carry system last I read but I am not sure of how hard it is to get.

When I visited right before Covid I was surprised how many armed guards there were. The train station had one, the hotel had one, even a small supermarket had one.

There was an initial military response from what I understand but it was weak. A bunch of police were killed as well though I don't know the context.

This makes me wonder though, how long would it take the military in Hawaii to respond? We are surrounded by military bases but if someone managed to send in hundreds of troops to slaughter the innocent, how long would it take the military to get to the armory, grab guns, organize, and drive out? Would our military have a more impressive response time?
