If you do any woodworking or other hobbies that requires assembly tables, saw guides, joinery or hinge installation, I'm sure you've heard of -- if not own -- the long line of Kreg tools and jigs.
i've been using their pocket hole products since 2018 among other stuff they make. Yesterday, I was drilling pocket holes for a laundry room storage unit i'm making, and i had a little difficulty tightening the stop collar on the drill bit to set the depth. The stop collar contains a set screw that uses a hex key, and the inside part of the screw was becoming stripped. The hex key would pop out as i tried to tighten it.
So, i went to the Kreg website, but the only thing they have for replacement parts are full sets of drill bit + stop collar + set screw + hex key. i didn't want to order all that to just get a set screw. So, I used their contact form to ask if they sold the screw separately, or if not what the specs were so i can look elsewhere.
Got an email in less than a day saying they are sending me the entire 4-piece replacement drill bit kit for free. I got the invoice an hour ago with the FedEx tracking number.
This is how companies keep customers coming back. I would have been happy with a tiny set screw, yet they are sending that and more for no charge.
Thought I'd spread something positive about a company for a change. There needs to be more companies willing to invest in customer good will.
