$18 for your big mac?

Due to an increase of the minimum wage companies like McDonalds will just raise prices.
I can see this trend here in Hawaii. Our local politicians just love to ape California.

I had a coupon for Burger King and a meal for me and my kid was still about $25.

Here is where the commercial for Honolulu Kitchen comes in.
I picked up about 70 bento boxes for a funeral today.
The owner personally helped load the boxes into the car.
As I said before, this is the ONLY place I know that displays the guns OK sign.

For $18 I might as well buy the ingredients and make the burgers and fries at home.

You can get really ono chop steak or kalbi at Tanaka Saimin for less than $18.
That restaurant is my favorite for reasonably priced food.  Everything I have tried there is good.
I just ate there last week and will be eating there again when I go back to Oahu in two weeks.

The Big Mac is so small now.  I can eat two.  And I'm not a big guy.

I wonder how much the Big Mac going be on Oahu:

$19.29 for sandwich (to pay the high school kids probably spitting on your burgers)
$1.71 kitchen charge (just a made-up charge to even it to $21.  What da hell.  It's Hawaii.)

And no forget the tip jar those damn kids probably going put by the drive in window and counters.

I say let them do it, let them raise the prices to $18 and watch what happens. Let them have their experiment and learn their lesson.

When junk food prices start to exceed more healthy foods, maybe the overall physical health of the country will begin to recover.

When you can get a super-sized meal of burger or fried chicken, starchy sides and sugary drinks for less than a basic salad and piece of broiled fish, most choose the quantity, convenience and addictive lure of a high fat, high sugar, high gluten based Big Mac combo.

I can't stand the taste of BM.
About 50 yrs ago I lived in a dorm that had a kitchen.
But the kitchen closed on the weekends.
So us kids had to find our own food.
I ate BMs every weekend and burped up special sauce until Tuesday. I haven't had a BM for 50 years. It's like PTSD.

The movie Super Size Me highlighted a guy who ate big Macs every single day.

Quote
Donald A. Gorske (born November 28, 1953) is an American world record holder
known as the "ultimate Big Mac fan," having eaten over 32,672 such hamburgers
from the U.S. fast food chain McDonald's in his lifetime,[1] earning him a place in
the Guinness Book of Records.

The only time I do Fast foods is when I'm on a road trip on the mainland.
even then it is usually just an overpriced Breakfast potato thing.
I got miles to travel. and a good meal at the end,  "Home cooked".
Remember the rule of 3's.
Y'all can go a long ways without food.
