Yup friend in line for pta just told me same thing. If applying for permit to acquire today, if they want to pick it up next year they need to bring certificate of new training requirements for pickup after 1/1/24.

This is true.

But if you’re applying for LTC before 1/1/24 it’s only good for 1 year, but you’d be picking that up in ‘24 so wouldn’t you need all new training requirements then?

Yes. Refer to the day Bruen was ruled on and how hpd changed the requirements.

Wonder if that’ll affect the length of the lines?

This is true.

That's not what they told my wife. They told my wife that you could apply to the 29th with her hunter Ed card. So why now they're saying no can. They just told her this last week because I had her ask.

My friend is in line right now because he just bought a pistol. And he was told the same thing as my wife from hpd and the gun shop he bought the pistol at.

That's why hard  :wtf:

The hunter’s Ed is good for the long gun as long as it’s within the last 4 years.

Gonna have a lot of potentially pissed off people come the beginning of the year if permits get denied after waiting hours in line on top of the 2 week waiting period with the conflicting information being put out by hpd.

Then they should have helped the cause.  Maybe this is what's needed so people get more involved next legislative session.

Yesterday took me just under three hours to do my Long Gun Renewal.  went in at 4:17pm.

I heard that today there was NO LINE!

Seems HPD is telling everyone, we will take your application BUT you need to provide new Training documents...Hmmm

I too for my long gun renewal will need to provide the Hunter's ed course completion card to get my permit.

Aloha!

So if applied for LTC between 12/18/23 and 12/31  but don't get submit required PTA in post Jan 1, 24, does that mean LTC permit is good for 4 yrs ?

No clue. But I know 1 guy who submitted his renewal and was the only one at that time so far, he still hasn't received it.

Update:  I renewed my long gun permit on Wednesday 12/27 and got a call yesterday 12/28 from HPD.....Mr. XXXX i see you have your LTC.  You should have told the officer.  they would have immediately issued you long gun permit

So today (friday) i went back and stood in line for an hour on the Registration/Permit pick up side and sure enough was issued my long gun permit.

Amazing...

Good luck to everyone.

Happy New Year!

Be Safe!
