Santa Brandon says: "Merry Xmas to some and to all a good night, vote for me now"
Some will have a Merry Xmas.

The student loan debt is listed as the largest single asset on the Fed. Gov.
balance sheet. Well at least it was.

Wow.  In 4 short years this asshat has ruined the country's economy and we are head over heels in debt.

Then he'll ride off into the sunset with his saddlebags full of dirty money while his "doctor" wife holds him steady and his loser son is holding on to his coattails while sucking his thumb.

I for one don't wish you golden years, charlatan.

College used to be for the minority of high school grads -- those who wanted to pursue professions like finance, medicine, the law, business, etc.

Now it's the minority who do not opt for a college degree.

i paid off my younger daughter's loans, just like I paid for my older daughter's college without any student loans.

I believe the cost of college is no longer justified financially for most graduates.

My granddaughter decided to go to welding school instead of college.  She just started in September and sent me this picture of her arc welding last month.

The more handouts are given, the more people will take them and not pay them back.  No questions asked loans should be only for where that person resides and should not be changed after graduating high school.  Why, because when I was going to UH, it was about $5K a year, compared to any out of state university like University of Oregon for out of state student was $20K a year.  So having a $20K student loan balance vs a $80K one is much more affordable to repay.

But then the colleges lose money and they do pay off politicians, so this will never fly.

I was taught if you take out a loan, pay it back.  If you got sucked into a scam, tough shit.

biden's loan forgiveness is a vote for me scheme.

biden wants me to pay for the forgiveness that he will take credit for.  FJB.

I hope the students/former students/parents are watching what's going on.

People who paid their loans back are getting screwed -- paid back the amount owed plus interest and their taxes go to pay off others' loans.

People who didn't get student loans and paid out-of-pocket -- their taxes go to pay off others' loans, and they could have gotten loans but didn't.

People who don't qualify for any of the new criteria for loan forgiveness get no bail-out -- not what Biden promised, and their taxes go to pay off others' loans.

Lots of people who qualify for forgiveness will have to make payments for 10 years -- not what Biden promised, doesn't help them buy a house or car, and their taxes go to pay off others' loans.

I hope the people who still have to pay their loans and those who never took a loan out go to the polls and express their disappointment in Biden breaking a major campaign promise.  I also hope the ones who do get loan forgiveness don't go to the polls -- they already got their bail-out.  Biden can't promise them anything more unless he refunds what they already paid on the loans.

He did less than promised -- only paid off loans for a fraction of those with loans and in many cases have payment and employment requirements for them to qualify.  That ought to piss off enough voters to offset anyone who would vote for him due to loan forgiveness.

This is my situation. Parents paid and I didn't want them spending $20K a year for me to go out of state.  So I settled for UH that was on average $5K a year.  I never looked into a loan as I didn't want to have a huge  debt right out of college.  I wanted to start the work force with a clean slate education loan wise.

My parents only paid because if I had to pay out of pocket, I wouldn't have went to college.  Instead start my career right out of high school.  I knew my career path didn't require a college education.

I think UH is a pretty good school.  I didn't go to college but in hindsight, I wish I did.  My father wanted me to get a CPA degree and takeover his accounting business.  I instead worked for Hawaiian Airlines for 20 years then went into the tree care business.   I made a very good living but I had to work outdoors in all kinds of weather compared to sitting in an air conditioned office.  The best part it would have been a job I could do myself and not have to deal with and rely on employees.

I know at least two Tongan tree company owners with no college education making more money than a wide body airline captain.

Biden's promise to alt least partially forgive student loans for over 30 million people has again been halted.

A Georgia judge previously refused to lift a previous injunction on the plan which is due to expire soon.  The new ruling by a federal judge in Missouri granted an injunction from 6 Republican led states blocking the loan cancellations claiming it is unlawful.

So, an unlawful promise by this administration ruled as unlawful in court, aimed at buying votes from people unwilling to repay the loans they spent on their education. They want the rest of us to pay for it, even though the schools, students and the respective parents are the ones who benefitted.

Good news for the country, and hopefully the Biden fans who owe for student loans will see how inept and unscrupulous their candidates are!!

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/after-a-day-of-legal-whiplash-bidens-student-loan-cancellation-plan-is-put-back-on-hold

Quote
“This is yet another win for the American people,” Missouri Attorney General Andrew
Bailey said in a statement. “The Court rightfully recognized Joe Biden and Kamala
Harris cannot saddle working Americans with Ivy League debt.”

Biden’s plan would cancel at least some student loan debt for an estimated 30 million
borrowers.

It would erase up to $20,000 in interest for those who have seen their original balances
increase because of runaway interest. It would also provide relief to those who have
been repaying their loans for 20 or 25 years, and those who went to college programs
that leave graduates with high debt compared to their incomes.

Biden told the Education Department to pursue cancellation through a federal rulemaking
process after the Supreme Court rejected an earlier plan using a different legal justification.
That plan would have eliminated up to $20,000 for 43 million Americans.
