I looked out the window after hearing a vehicle stop and a door close. It was a marked HPD SUV, and the Cop was having a talk with my neighbor.
Late this afternoon, as i was sprucing up the front lawn, the neighbor came out to tell me someone in a pickup backed into his carport, one of them got out, and he was all masked-up in a hoodie.

Luckily, the neighbor has a RING camera/doorbell, and caught the guy approaching the house on the app. He used the remote mic to scare him off, then called HPD.
The son was alone in the house until he left for school about 07:20, so that was fortunate.
I printed out some images of the truck taken from my upstairs security setup and dropped them off with the neighbors.
My video showed the truck coming down the street at 07:54:30 and pass our houses. It must have circled around, which isn't a short distance, because at 07:56:45, the truck came back from the same direction as before. This time it stopped in the road and reversed into the neighbors' carport at a quick pace.
They didn't stay long, either. At 07:57:38, the truck pulled out of the carport and drove away the same direction they were traveling before.
Seems to be an uptick lately on burglaries in the Mililani area. Same as most holiday seasons I believe. Looks like they were casing houses for cars that are gone indicating people are at work, etc.
He was able to provide HPD with a description of the truck and license number from his ring footage. It's a blue Tacoma, and from my video, it may be pretty old.
Keep your guard up, and be careful out there!
