Cost $1K and good for 2 years, renewal is $500
Delay is 1.5 years
Need to pay for your own psychological eval begining 2024
Subjective criteria in violation of Bruen
Must provide prior employer info
 
SCOTUS hasn't ruled on this yet, so all the above is constitutional and since there is a process to get a CCW.

I’m more interested in the overall implication of reciprocity for Hawaii or the fact that if California is forced to do it then Hawaii will eventually need to do it too. Obviously it will take time to work through the system but it seems like this is solid steps to slowly chip away at the current limitations.

It won't happen in the courts. It would have to be on the federal level.  They tried when Trump was in office. The "Hudson Bill" made it pass either the house or senate. 1st time this happened ever. Then when onto the next committe, it died because some GOP would have voted with the DNC to not pass it, even thought the GOP controlled both at the time.  Trump said if it came to his desk, he would sign it.

Don't expect this to happen again anytime soon.

I would like to think I helped with this bill because it used to say you need your resident states CCW and it would be valid nationwide. So I called Hudsons office and explained HI doesn't issue CCW"s so it would be impossible for HI to benefit from this.  The next version stated any states CCW is valid nationwide.
