Last night I had sweet sour pig feet that my wife made. Actually we use the hocks, get more meat.
That is one of my favorites, along with short rib stew. Short ribs are so expensive, a pot can easily run $60.
Another thing I noticed is Costco meat quality is not good now. I buy my meat from Sam's Club whenever I go to Oahu.
I do not like the taste of grass fed beef, so I stay away from home grown meat.
I love eating pig feet and short rib stew.
I'm a "soup" person. I like stews, soups, braised meats, chowders, and "ramen" type meals.
And I also love curry type foods. All kinds.
Pig feet I make every once in a while. It tends to trigger my gout when I eat too much of it.

Foods that used to be cheap are like gourmet prices now. Oxtails could be given away 30 years ago but now it commands prices just like filet mignon.
What cracks me up nowadays is Ahi/Aku bones. Small kid time we used to go to the supermarket and we could buy a whole bunch of them for 25 cents. We used them for crab bait in our nets.
Now when I see the prices for them in the market I sh*t my pants. Laughing.
I feel like making pig feet soup tonight. Okinawan style.
