Next time I'm in Vegas I should look around and see if I can spot somebody open carrying.

I only see this once in a while. We were at Fashion Show and a "thug" looking guy was open carrying at the Apple Store. The other 3 guys in his group weren't. So I left to take a piss and next to the restroom is the security office. As I was going in, I see 2 security guards running out the door and off to somewhere.  I assume it was to Apple. When I returned, he and his group were gone.  But Fashion Show security are unarmed also.

The other 2 times, we were at a gun store and guys walked in with a pistol on their hip. Unlike HI gun stores, the Vegas ones don't care.

Saw a guy on a motorcycle on the freeway with his AR slung on his back.

Seen a few people CCWing.

Saw some during the rodeo carrying on their hip with their jackets covering over it.  But you can see it as their jackets are not buttoned up. This was in MGM and Venetian.

So facial recognition (FR) software has been in Vegas for a while. Mainly to catch cheaters as someone posted on IG that a card counter was tresspassed, but came back to the Venetian.  He was seen being escorted in cuffs by security.

The hotel also uses it for their employee parking.  I know a guy who was talked to cause he wasn't parking in employee parking, but the guest parking.  He had a diff car, which means they used FR as he walked from his car to the employee entrance.

Amazing what technology can do today.

In good ways and equally or maybe even more so nefarious ways.

This is why I shake my head with what's happening in Vegas:

Danny the Medic moved to Vegas.  Good for him. He found a calling to make additional money via his YT channel.  Guess he got tired of flying from NY to Vegas every month.

Right now he has a very tiny apartment.  But I assume this is temporary until he gets to know Vegas more and moves to a more permanent location. When we move, we plan on doing the same. Rent for at least a year before buying.

I follow his videos.  Besides his Food and Travel channel he created a Misc. Channel that focuses on his quest to beat his gambling addiction.

I also leave comments in his YT comments section.  I don't think he likes me much.  Some of my comments are probably not what he expected so 99% of his commenters get his "heart" emoji next to them while I get sh*t.

I'll check out his other channel.

I emailed him shortly after his CCW video and he replied.

I've been looking for Danny's other channel for a few weeks or so and didn't realize it's "miscellaneous with Danny The Medic". The font and word combo looks too close to "Food and Travel".

I assume YT pays him for this channel as well, which if they do, is a smart move.  Norma Geli recently has another channel.  Then the others who started a separate slots channel like JacobslifeinVegas and Pompsie.

It seems though that the casino's are going back to not allowing filming in their hotels.  I've noticed most of the slots vids are in El Cortez, GVR, Red Rock.  Places  that needs the business. But then there's Vegas Matt who's still allowed to film in the Venetian and Resorts World. Don't see much at the Cosmo, Wynn, MGM, etc...like how during COVID we saw.

DTM has a gun specific channel.  I'll watch those vids. He needs more subs so he can hit 1000 and start to get paid. Right now he's at 818.

If you want to help him out, you should post the links to his channels under a different topic.

U just failed your interview for head google scrubber. lol.

I'm on a few FB groups about Vegas and at least a few times a week, someone asked "haven't been to Vegas since precovid, what changed". And wow. so many changes. The biggest diff is table mins.

You missed the point.  Your links will get lost in this thread.  A separate thread would make them stand out better.

The Vegas bus system is going to implement AI that can detect weapons.  There was no mention if it can detect concealed weapons like a AIWB firearm, or if the weapon has to be visible. Like in someone's hand.  This was in response to a shooting that happened a few years ago on the bus. IIRC, it was outside of Paris Hotel.

I know there is AI tech that can detect AIWB firearms and it's based on infrared.  Basically, a cold spot on your appendix.  This tech also has been around for years now.  But this tech is also very expensive and hotels don't even use this.  How do I know, I CCW in random hotels all the time.  And have seen others printing too.  So I highly doubt the bus system will use this type of AI.  I think it will be more the visual AI.  They claim it will call Metro in seconds.

Gun control is getting more and more nuts.

It would be easier to implement stricter consequences for actions but I guess that would be too easy and a lot of people would lose their jobs and the ACLU would be insignificant.

Social workers, parole officers, drug therapists, etc. would all be extinct and working at McDonalds.

But maybe that's a good thing.  I hear you can put a kid through college and buy a house working for fast food outlets nowadays.

Rainbow Drive in had a scholarship program to UH or KCC for employee's kids. My friend had full scholarship tuition to UH. Her dad worked the grill.

One of the biggest problems with using statutory penalties to prevent violent crimes, including gun crimes, is too often the perpetrator doesn't survive.  They are killed in the arrest process or commit suicide soon after.

That fact means we don't get a chance to convict and punish these people.

Maybe it's anecdotal, but i see more stories about a suspect being killed in the commission of very violent crimes or having their bodies discovered because they chose death over being in prison.  The successful capture, conviction and punishment stories don't seem as numerous.

I think if that's what people see in the news, it lessens any deterrence the legal system offers society..

All this nickel and diming is the reason I don't go to Vegas as much nowadays.

It's the principle, the shadiness, and downright money grab that irritates me.

Screw Vegas.  Well, for a while anyway.
