The Deuce also announced that they will have armed guards on the bus's.

Hoo boy, just imagine an all out gunfight on the Deuce while on the Strip with the Bellagio Fountains spurting in the air along with the soundtrack of Elvis's "Viva Las Vegas!"

Went last week. Saw armed security at the bus stop. But to be fair, walgreens has armed security too.

Hit a straight flush on ultimate TX holdem at Palms. They changes to u need to hit it on the flop for the $25k progressive. So i only won like $500 off a $10 bet.

Hit the royal 4 hands later, but not on the flop. $10 turned into $5k. Lost out on a $250k progressive.

Because me and wife watch our newly arrived great-grandson (1yr old) and grandson (4 months old) we are limited to school breaks when we can go Vegas.

Wife was thinking maybe right after Christmas Day through maybe Jan. 4th or 5th.

But I dunno.  Sometimes I feel like I like go and sometimes I feel....nah.

I can post more now as I'm on my laptop vs phone (fat fingers).

There was 1 crackhead who a cop detained outside of Paris.  The crackhead then resisted a little.  The cop didn't have to take him down, but gave him a stern command to "relax".  He was the only cop there.  Mrs. CMO and I were about 20 feet away and hung around until back up arrived, just incase he needed assistance. We wouldn't help right off the bat, but wait until it's needed. Like the crackhead is ontop the cop MMA style or things like that.  Due to airline rules, we didn't have OC, but only our firearms. OCing would be a good option to assist sooner and not wait.  I immediately thought "FML, I don't got no OC".  So this reinforced my importance of having OC.  OC would be good too because TBH, you wouldn't want to touch this crackhead. He was super dirty and open sores.

I'm pretty sure if worst case happened and the cop did need our help, the Metro Chief wouldn't hang us out to dry, compared to HPD/prosecutors office here.  They had a situation at Range702 where a cop was stabbed in the neck with a screwdriver and the bad guy got lit up by 3 CCW holders.  The chief commended their actions for helping.

Many luxury retail places now have a velvet rope.  Grab and dash is a thing now in Vegas and has been for a few years.  Even the Fashion Show Mall now has armed security and K9.  This is the mall where the HI woman was killed in the parking lot a few years ago.  Outside of the Horseshoe, that mall area has armed security patrolling.  They're in tactical gear too.  Plate carrier, FDE uniform, gunbelt.  They aren't police.

Times have changed where you need this on the strip.

Yep.  You really have to be vigilant when in Vegas, no matter where you are.  Sign of the times.

I think of that Hawaii lady who got killed in the parking lot.  So sad.  Just enjoying their Vegas vacation.

Are we really a civilized and just society when criminals run free, many times with only a slap on the wrist?

Meanwhile families grieve a loved one forever.

BTW, what happened to that f*cker.

IIRC, the shooter was from CA. So we see weak judicial system for career criminals affecting other states.  CA/DNC type policies affect others, like a cancer spreading.

Anyone going to Vegas, be aware of the F1 construction. Allow for longer than normal travel.

This event is screwing Vegas as the high end casinos made money (But not all bars/restaurants inside same high end). Everyone else got screwed.

My sister in law and her husband (yeah I know, my brother in law but I don't like to call him that ) are leaving tonight and they do rent a car.  They like to drive all over the valley and visit local casinos and try the local eateries.  They hardly visit the strip, preferring to stay at Suncoast and Green Valley.

But yeah, that F1 event does cause far reaching problems for drivers.  I wish it would go away but it will stay for at least 5 years?

My wife and I plan to be in Vegas from Dec. 26 through Jan. 3rd.  We usually stay Downtown.  I don't like to drive in Vegas but was thinking of renting a car for a couple of days to go to Trader Joe's and visit some local casinos and I know she likes to visit some outlet malls.  I hate driving in Vegas.

We usually go with my in-laws above but my sister in law's husband drives me nuts.  But they drive and so I don't have to.  But the guy is too much.  Had enough of him.

I feel sorry for my wife as she loves going with her sister to Vegas.  So I will bite the bullet and drive when we are there.

One problem though.  My sister in law and her husband might come with us in December.  Sh*t. >:(

Saw the Tropicana implosion and it was lame. Anyone who paid to stay at the next door hotels and wasn't above say 10th floor, got a show of dusk mainly.  I wonder if the Oyo elevators were working as they're known to not be working often.

Lots of changes for the future in Vegas.

I tried to post a video talking about it and ended up with a video about an Indian Restaurant in Vegas.

Oh well, deleted it but yeah, lots of changes coming.  High prices too.

The Deuce (bus) has gun detection cameras now. Besided having armed guards at the stops.

2 were detected. 1 was an airsoft. The other was fake.

So, you're saying the cameras haven't detected any real guns, but a couple non-firearms were?

Sounds like a great use of funds.

I guess CCW is forbidden in mass transit in Nevada?

By Deuce rules, not law. But what the AI would do is call 911 and have metro meet you at a stop, unless you got off first. Then I assume a manhunt begins.

I wonder if casinos use this tech and turn a blind eye to people who aren't causing trouble.  We CCW all the time and not 1 issue, and I've seen others at ShotShow CCWing in a casino about 2 years ago and no one was stopped.

Was in Vegas after F1 week.

Spoke to a bartender at a happening club at a high end casino. They made jack $hit. About $50 in tips total for the thursday, friday and saturday F1 event.

I think that the high end casino gambling floors make money. The restaurants in there and bars/clubs don't make as much.  Average hotels like NYNY, Park MGM dont make much and the lower end hotels do even worst (Circus Circus, Excalibur, etc...).

The traffic still sucks. Took us 30 mins to drive 3 blocks due to the deconstruction of the barriers for F1.

Last year, they were quick to release the F1 numbers, like a few days. This year, nothing yet.  Last year, some guy at the Wynn tipped $400K, which brought up their tipping numbers.  I'll bet that didn't happen again.

Spoke a many local workers and they all hate F1.  Too much traffic for months prior to the event and for about 2 months after the event.

Seems to me that Vegas is targeting the financially elite.  Even though they are fewer in numbers than the average tourists (which make up the majority of the visitors) the amount they spend must make it more profitable for the resorts.

Gone are the days when the average visitors were catered to with cheap buffets, graveyard specials at the 24 hr. cafes, and generous comps for generally average play.

This is why I like to visit Downtown and local casinos more than the Strip but even at those locations you can see that Vegas is listening more to the stockholders than the average joe.

I used to hit up Vegas 2+ times a year. Last I went was last summer and barely gambled. Little to no interest lately for gambling, especially since many family that I used to go with or visit have passed or no longer go (as often). I will still go and still enjoy, just not like before. COVID really out a damper on things, plus other stuff keeping me busy nowadays.

Love me some F1 tho. Want to go to an event one day, but not Vegas.

Since COVID, the tipping has gone down. Talked to the same bartender above. $600 a night on a slow night was average. Now, a slow night gets you $50. Tables are being given away cause no one is spending $40K on a table as often. Which means these giveaways don't tip much if at all.
