It would make sense that Station Casinos lean GOP as when Kirk was assassinated, all their digital billboards outside had a picture of Kirk on them.

The State of Nevada has generally leaned slightly more GOP in presidential elections, but the city of Las Vegas is divided pretty evenly.

As a swing state, they do help the presidential race winner get to the finish line over 80% of the time, but I have to wonder: did the candidate win because NV voted for them, or did NV vote for that candidate because they predicted he'd win?  It's like a chicken and egg riddle.

Quote
Nevada is considered a "purple" state, meaning it has a mix of
Democratic and Republican voters, with recent trends showing
a slight lean towards the Democratic Party. Historically, Nevada
has voted for the winning presidential candidate 87.5% of the
time since 1900, reflecting its status as a swing state.

A lot off California Refugees fled to LV, which has been responsible for significantly higher housing prices and increased prices overall.  Be prepared for the transplanted Liberals to start trying take over bringing their failed ideas to yet another state.

Compared to 2016, Trump got 50,000 more votes from Clark County (Vegas) in 2020.  Brandon only got 5,000 more votes than the DNC runner (Clinton) did in 2016.  But Clark County still had more DNC than GOP voters.

Washoe County also voted for Brandon.  But these 2 alone voted for Brandon, the remaining counties voted Trump, thus a Trump vote from NV.

I've been talking to some who live in Washoe County and they're more GOP than DNC, but the issue is they dont' vote as it's a far drive or empathy.

I think there is a correlation between size of government, population and GDP.

I'm starting to notice that.  When I looked into TX, I noticed all the major cities are blue. Houston, Dallas, Austin, etc...It's the areas around these cities that are red, thus making TX red. Then add in the top 10 gun murder cities are all blue.

NV is slowly going more red, as they were leaning more blue prior to 2018 or so.  There is speculation that their state senate and assembly (house) will have more red seats coming up.  Right now it's like 62% blue.

I remember the days where if you wanted to eat, the world was at your fingertips, no matter what time it was, day or night.

One of my favorite memories of Vegas is every casino had a 24 hr. cafe.

That's 1 of the sad things that came about after covid, no more 24/7 food.  Some have reopened, but not all like precovid.  Or places taht would close at like 2AM now close at 9pm.

I used to watch Derrick and Katherine, but stopped when they moved to CA and didn't do as much Vegas vids.  IDK why they moved, does anyone know?  They may have covered it, but I didn't see taht vid if they did.

I'm also noticing an influx of "Vegas is Dead" videos by all of the content creators.

Maybe a month or so ago I would estimate 3 out of 5 videos out on YTube would talk about the price gouging and declining visitor numbers.

Now it seems everyone and putin's grandmother is posting Vegas is Dead videos.  Many of them don't even have any facts or figures to back their claim except hearsay and memories of Vegas past.

YTube must be so competitive.  I see these content creators as rats climbing upon each other as the boat is sinking out at sea.

Have you not been introduced to the concept of click-bait, yet?

this guy is obnoxious with the "award winning chef" and "it's just like i made in my restaurants", but he covers a lot of restaurants not just the "influencer" type of places...

I hope the whales that Vegas caters to go somewhere else.  I really do.  I'm already researching other destinations that value "commoners" like me.

I hope Vegas experiences what happens when they put all their eggs in one basket.

I tune into this guy every now and then.  I find it amusing how superfluous his reviews are but at least he reviews the food which is what I look for in food vlogs.  Other food vloggers I won't mention (Danny the Medic) makes food review videos with no reviews.  It's mostly about themselves.  Narcissist POS disguised as a food vlogger.

And yeah, I laugh when he mentions he is an "award winning chef" and claims the food is just like how he makes it when he owned his restaurant.

If that's the case, what happened, bro?  It's like you went from the NFL to the Pop Warner league.

Can you elaborate about DTM?

He gives food a 1-10 rating and even does it for individual items.  Like a hambuger, he will rate the bun and then the patty, and then together as a whole.

He did say that he isn't a food vlogger, he just eats where he wants and tells people what he thinks.  Compared to others who are invited to events or by the restaurant and get comp'd or specials.  I mean DTM does get invited to some events, but over 97% of his vids are of his own.

It's hard to explain.  The way I perceive him anyway.  He claims he is real and tells nothing but truth.  I actually liked him and subscribed to his channel when he was just starting up.  He did seem genuine.

He posts a video everyday.  Sometimes more than one video a day.  So he has a ton of content out there.  Since I was a fanboy of him I watched and absorbed every video he made.

Here are some of his "signature" characteristics that started me to dislike him:

1.  Sexual innuendos.  These are fine if that's what floats your boat but he will end it by blaming you, the viewer.  He will paint it as you are the one with the dirty mind.

2.  His hate for vegetables.  Again, this is fine.  Everyone is different.  But he will make comments that veggie eaters are out of their mind.  And guess who he is referring to:  his viewers.

3.  He lies.  Yes, I believe he does.  He will claim he never did, experience, or seen something but if you follow his videos closely you will realize he has done it or seen it or experienced it before.

4.  He disrespects.  I think his desire to increase his channel, clicks, views, and subscriptions blinds him to the fact that he does not realize he is being disrespectful.

5.  He will not apologize.  Even though his viewers call him out on something offensive or disrespectful, he will not apologize.  Again, I think his desire to increase his content overshadows common ethics in vlogging.

I think this video, where he collaborates with Tim Lee, will show what I'm trying to say.  This was bound to happen and a large portion of his viewers were not happy with his behavior.  If you read the comments that followed the video you will see that it actually changed his future behavior in his videos.

All YT content creators know one thing -- the more subscribers, views AND COMMENTS they get on their monetized videos, the more $$ they make.

If he's putting out disrespectful, controversial, or non-apologetic statements in his video, it's more than likely to trigger people into making comments and to start discussions (arguments) between viewers.

I would wager most of what he says that's negative toward groups of people are probably meant to increase viewer participation.

I might be wrong, but that's what many, many YT content creators have said.

I haven't watched this one yet, but I will later and give my $0.02.

But I would say never apologize when on YT or social media.  You cannot please everyone and apologizing just sets precedent to trying to appease the crowd at that moment.

I have seen all his vids and I never found him to be disrespectful.  But I haven't watched the above Tim Lee one, but even though, it's 1 vid vs hundreds.

IMO, I htink his attitude toward veggie eaters is all in his humor.  Same with his sexual inuendos.

I think the nation as a whole has broken its collective funny bone.  There's no other explanation for the late night comedy shows to have such unfunny people appealing to hatred and political fighting.

i'm old enough to remember when comedians TRIED to be edgy, not apologize for it.

I was in Vegas for a week end of Aug. It certainly oha changed a lot since what I remember from pre-COVID. That said, reasons and “approach” in going to Vegas has changed a lot over the last 5 years or so.

I went stayed at Aria and Venetian, but went to Downtown often. Big difference in areas as well as which days. Since I was there for (9) days, I saw stark difference between Mon-Thu and Thu-Sun. Some venues seemed to have less drop off between the “rush days” than others.

Talking with locals, Uber drivers, etc most commented about how times have changed and “times are rough”. Nothing new or not mentioned above, but seemed like that’s all folks were talking about.

I don’t enjoy Vegas as much as I used to, nor do I have the burning desire to go to Vegas as before. It’s ok though. It is what it is. I still enjoy going to Vegas, but nowadays I’d rather travel to other destinations.
