Precovid, no one was alllowed to film. Then post Covid, the casinos needed a way to get people to come and gamble. Letting people record themselves and upload to youtube or social media would entice others.
As covid ended, casinos slowly began removing this access. 1 reason was some were doing live streams and proxy betting on slots via group pulls, which is illegal. Proxy betting is when you give someone money to gamble for them. So imagine if you can live stream and now people from around the world can watch you play their money to keep you honest.
It also looked tacky on the casino floor wtih tons of video equipment set up. So they then limited it to hand held or 1 tripod.
Then casinos only allowed certain people as you had to "apply" to record yourself. Some said you can come when ever you want like El Cortez and others you had to make an appointment for a time slot.
Now Park MGM has an "influencer" room where people can play and record all they want withouth permission. Plaza has a livestream cameras set up in 1 section of slots and looks like blackjack. This isn't an influencer thing, but a live stream on Plaza's youtube channel. I was watching it on friday night and had about 6 people watching. The camera rotates from where the action is, at the time I was watching, it was on hte blackjack table and had 2 guys playing betting green chips ($25).
This shows how the industry is changing.
Youtubers I enjoy watching:
Bluff as he plays craps, BJ, baccarat, UTM roulette, slots at mainly el cortez.
Vegasmatt
Vegas low roller
Blackjack apprentice
Lucky Lee Gaming
Channels I can't stand
Dlucky
NG Slots
The big jackpot (possible sex offender and files cease and decist court papers for people who talk bad about him)
I used to watch All Casino Action until the main person Sarah stopped and her "husband" Victor took over as he's not entertaining.
